Not really problems or anything serious, but what are some things that you wish you could change about factory stock CRKs?

As for me, I received my first large sebenza 21 in the mail a week ago. I was in really high expectations of this knife. When I opened the box I was still in bliss, but when I tested the edge, it was probably the dullest NIB blade I had ever received. I'm not complaining about it, since it's a very minor thing and I could (1) send it to the factory or (2) touch it up myself.

Also for those who read thread updates, many will know about my dislike for lanyards personally on my knives (I think they look great and original on other's knives, but they're just not for me). I wish the lanyard spacer tube thing would stay in without the lanyard physically needing to be there. Again, this is easily fixed by tying a gutted paracord knot in between the scales and trimming around the excess that hangs out. I guess I just want more blue! It looks great, accenting the grey Ti scales, letting them pop out!

So what are your obsessive things that we can pass time talking about how you would change them?

This is a no brainer... If Chris let Spyderco make the blades (with the Spydie hole opener of course) and also let them do the final sharpening, the Seb would go from a classic to a CLASSIC THAT FREAKIN ROCKS. Yikes. This is not a flame on CRK. I love their knives and their business model (what a success story indeed). But a true Spydie/CRK collaboration Seb would be an instant worldwide hit. Why this hasn't happened yet is a mystery.

It sure would beat the CRK - CRKT collaboration that failed so disastrously.
On the other hand, I've never had a problem with a dull edge on my CRKs.

I agree with the spyderco comment. It's the brand that I have the most knives from and will keep buying from them. I've been around knives all my life and it seems like every new spyderco I get, each one is sharper and sharper, namely the XHP manix 2 and Zdp caly 3

I wish the thumb stud was different/larger but tat the same time I like the streamline looks of the stud. I do wish the lanyard pin would stay put and not slide out without the lanyard. Also, after a little while the lanyards begin to fray from the tip of the knife.

I think the knives are perfect if it came to you dull call the shop they will fix it for you

I think the Insingo is as great a design as anything from CRK, in my mind, as important as the Mnandi and maybe better than the Umnumzaan. I liked he looks from the pictures but when I got to handle one I was really impressed. It is an amazing, utilitarian design.

I think I need to try an Insingo but I want to wait for it to be released so the handle configurations can be had.

I wish that I had gotten my Sebenza before they switched over to the double side hex screws. I think the older ones with the solid sides looked much better.

I actually prefer the double hex sided screws. I think they are more practical and look better.

I agree with Esav and BBQ boy. The insingo is a very fine and useful knife.I like it better than the Umnum. Its thinner and carries easier than the umnum and is easy to keep blistering sharp. The lanyard will fray with contact to to point of the knife but that's an easy fix. IMHO the insingo is for me the best seb for what I need a knife for. I also like the doublebhex screws.

I just miss the Regular, and a regular with S35VN Insingo blade and double lugs would make me super happy.

Not really sure there is anything I can nitpick about the Sebenza - it's a great knife for a reason!! Well, maybe the price - if it were considerably less then a lot more people would be able to enjoy the knife, and some would even use theirs and not make them safe queens.

I've had two large Sebenzas (still own one), and both were scary sharp out of the box.

The standard blue anodising is one thing I don't like much, but that one is coverd by CRK offering other options. :)

i would like to see:

-satin scales in addition to bb in the undecorated models.
-satin blades avialable in the undecorated models.
-more flat grinds.
-xtra large model (4" blade).
-disc instead of thumbstud.

nothing drastic, just a few more options is all.

Not the insingo blade, but with a swedge. Definitely a swedge. Perfect knife then.

Something like this, but RH

For my money, my Sebenza could lose the extra hole, have an anodized handle to reduce sctatching, and have a more exotic steel (like CPM S110V). I use a push pin lanyard to quickly attach it to or detach it from the knife. Chris said the thing looked a little clunky, but he doesn't have to pay for a new knife if he loses the old one.
