CRK Safe Queens !!!............Most of us have more than One CRK. Do you guys Use Them, OR are they regulated to Safe Queen Duty ???............ Are you afraid to Use them because you know the smallest blemish will knock $$$ from it ???............ I am always torn on what to do. I have some, that I have used ( they are now slightly blemished ), some have never been out of the living room ( minty )............I never bought any CRK with the intention to sell them, though I have sold or traded a couple to get a different CRK that I wanted. I Believe the only True Way to Enjoy my CRK is to Use Them. I have a tougher time using some of my One Piece Knives. They are my favorite CRK, but with them going away next month, it makes it tougher to use them, even though I have NO intensions on selling or trading any of them. The two I did part with this year were my least favorite design, so I was not too bummed. I love my Shadow I's and Jereboam I, but I havent used them, but wanna try them out soooo bad :D As for my Large Regular Sebenza I had engraved, I Use It without worry............Am I the only one that has trouble Using A Favorite CRK ??? Let me know what you guys think. I am gonna post a poll also............. ( I believe I fall under every catagory depending on which CRK I am talking about:D ) Enjoy !!!

The CGG was my user and now has taken the duty of special occasions knife. The small 21 is now my EDC! :thumbup:

The way I see it, we pay GOOD money for these tools...might as well get our money out of them! ;)

Speaking of which, the CGG was taken out today!

I buy my knives to use, be it CRK, EKI or Spyderco but I do have 2 or 3 of
some knives so I have a full on, minty fresh example for my collection.:):thumbup:
 
I have three CRKnives at the time (Lg MM Sebbie, Mark VI and Umfaan) and I'm glad for every opportunity to use any of them, though my Umfaan is still kind of a SafeQueen. But on the other hand I'm a bit oversensitive to scuffs on these fine knives :o so I always pay attention to not to get any accidental scratches or similar stuff and just use them carefully in the spirit of Reeve's motto: "Take care of your knife..." That's just my way.
 
You only live once, Might as well get use out of an object. You can be assured when your gone, they will most likely be sold :P. If your children keep any, it will be the ones you used.
 
It's easy to use my favourite CRK, cuz I only have one! I've used the handle as a hammer, but do what I can to avoid blade damage. Use em!
 
I voted for both. I have both users, and one that just lives in the safe.
 
i will never buy a knife that i will not use. i understand some people just collect, and i may do that someday. for now though, i use all that i buy.

even if a crk is blemished, it can be sent in to look new (in most cases).
 
I have a small plain Sebenza the has been in my EDC rotation. I have others that are rare (Morse Code, Unique Graphic P, Umfaan) or one-of-a-kind that are safe queens. There is room for everyone under this tent!
 
I have only picked up 1 CRK with the no intention to use it (28y Mk IV). All others have been picked up with the are on the "usage block". With that said I have not carried them all yet. I have a few Large 21s that have not been carried, but they will all be one day. I also have a Large 21, Large Regular, Small 21, and an Umnumzaan in my EDC rotation. For those in my EDC Rotation I am not worried about scratching or "use marks".
 
All of my sebenzas are users with the exception of two. They are both CGG sebenzas with damascus blades. One is my daughter's birth date, they other one is my wife's and my anniversary.
 
My 1st couple Sebs were more or less safe queens, but now that I've had 7 different Sebs, an Umnum, & an Aviator, I get them to use them.

I have several folders that I pick from to carry/use (Don't we all), but my only smaller folder to carry/use, is my small 21 micarta Seb.

I did pick up an Aviator with the intention of using it, but ended up trading it for a Busse GW that I intend on using. Oh well.
 
I went User/SafeQueen because my factory CRKs I use without hesitation, but any of the ones I have that have been modded I don't really like to carry or use. I try to keep my modded/customized knives out of the pocket and lookin good. If it's a Plain Jane it's getting used.
 
I have some that are safe queens - and a few that are not. Umfaans that are minty - I just cannot use them! Others I carry...
 
Gotta use it :)

I really like mine, and was upset the first few scratches that I put into it (had to use it at night, in a parking lot, put it down repeatedly...it happens), but hey, it's not worth worrying about.

In a year or so I'll probably send it in to the spa.
