I use my best knives. It's the cheaper ones that sit around.

I have three Sebenzas and carry/use them all on a regular basis: large classic with micarta inlay, large regular (older model with BG-42 blade), and small classic. I also have a Mark VI that I take hiking fairly often.

The two that are played with often but never carried are (1) my numbered, first production run Mnandi, and (2) the Umfaan that my wife gave me as a wedding present.

I've been carrying my BG-42 Classic 2000 the last few weeks and the action is finally starting to get real smooth. My Mayonized Seb lives in the safe.

The way that I look at it, a knife that has honest wear has more personality to it. However, there's nothing wrong with relegating that special Sebenza as a safe queen...

I think the one major difference I see between knife nuts is that some of us are also knife collectors. Most knife collectors also have knife users. The other type of knife knut just uses their knives and has no real interest in knives they wouldnt use. I fall into the later category, but I could see myself becoming a collector some day when I have more cash
