CRK: Should the first one be new or used?

Buying the 1st CRK is something of special so buy new from authorized dealer.

Just received a "like new" knife with a stripped clip screw so now I have changed my mind; buy new whenever possible.

That's awful stjames. BS. Sorry brother.

Lisantica, yes! Keep it up. You know I need more convincing. ha I'm EX-Army, yet a scared little boy. Well, also a happy little boy when it comes to knives. I just shipped to New York and Greece to be able to afford this purchase. Is that wrong?

And Lisantica, more vids of your CRKs....you should show how you EDC them and what your everday uses are with them. No one really does that on the tube. Or just tell me to shut it.

Wellllll, I don't really EDC them very often. Can't carry on the job and mainly have my Mnandi on me nights and weekends, so not much to say on a video. Plus, some of mine are strictly for collecting, safe queens.

Wow, you got to be kidding me. Someone actually sent a Sebneza to you and used the CRK box it came in as the shipping box? I'm amazed it arrived.

LMAOOO thats almost like something you'd expect to be done as a joke.. it's THAT careless.

Thank you, had to dig up the old screw extractor kit to get happy. :)

For more fun info on the same knife, see post #100 on this thread. Never seen anything like it.

On the bright side it was one less step to get to the knife...with the stripped screw. On the downside...well everything else about it is the downside. That really is amazing and I can't believe it made it to you.

Buy new. Wait for the model you really want. The price difference is not worth getting anything less than what you desire.

I waited (years) until I was passing by a brick and mortar while traveling across country. So I not only bought new, I had a selection :) and wound up with a decorated instead of a plain.

With the new onslaught of fakes or Sebenza-style knives being sold as genuine, I try to be VERY cautious when buying used.
With some knives arriving with stripped screws from individual parties or packaged haphazardly, or with parts missing, (sheath, birth card, etc.), it seems that peace of mind is worth the little extra to pay for new.

Sometimes some people are so amazed at the quality of CRK that they keep them in the safe and never use them. I think if you got one used or did not pay retail, then you might be more likely to use/carry one to really truly appreciate the quality. And should you not like it, you should be able to get closer to what the value is since you got it second hand to begin with.
Either way, you can't lose.

my first was new. i'm half and half on mine. But for your first, unless you can get a good deal used, go buy a new one and relish in it's beauty and pristine state

st james- you've got some nice luck there, thankfully it made it to you. know to look out for that person in the future.
