CRK & Supersteels

I am really happy with S35Vn, especially on newer CRK's.

It's a much better steel then I imagined it to be.....

I can't think of much of a "wish list" but 3V would be nice!

This is how I feel. For a folder S35vn is fine for me. I like it a lot!

I would like to see something like 3V for fixed blades though.

I wouldn't change a towards the harder to sharpen steels. I know they are popular with a lot of people for their increased edge retention but S35vn really is a fairly good middle ground that will let the average owner keep the knife sharp. I've not had a situation where I wanted longer lasting edge retention over S35VN.

I'd also skip the non-stainless options to gain a bit of edge retention. Not worth the trade off to me on an EDC type item I'd use on foods.

If anything, I'd like to see them make a SS liner with G10 scale model of the 21 using a lower cost steel but kept to the same or similar quality standards. Retail that at $200-$250 and you would open up to a very wide section of the market that maybe can't quite justify the cost while still providing the quality level CRK is known for.

I really like the corrosion resistance of the S35VN. With all the other steels I have in both fixed and folders, the best performing for what I use them for, I find that a FFG serves me the best. So, I'd be down for a user Sebenza in S35VN with a FFG blade. And not the older ones that are collectors.

I'm a big fan of CTS-XHP, but I think that's a step backwards. The S35VN seems pretty easy to sharpen and is fairly strong. If life is all about balance, CRK seems to have perfected it!
