Crk&t...

KISS TwoTimer - definitely crap. KISS stand for Keep It Simple System, the TwoTimer with its multiple delicate small parts and fancy two blade opening mechanism is craving for malfuntion or worse. Moreover, the main blade is crap, so dull that I used it to scare sheeple by "cutting" myself with full force, only leaving a stripe.

TRIUMPH NECK CordWrapped- great design, nice sheath and practical MercHarnass; all these ruined by the steel and the coating. Tip broke off just after dropped on a wooden floor, coating weared off after couples of serious deep cuts. I'd love to see them upgrade the steel to S30V or VG-10, with a nice Ti-coat, than I'll be willing to pay twice the price they ask now.

M16 series - again, great design, lots configurations to fit the niches, but crappy liners, too thin for my liking.

Generally I'd stay away from CRKT, unless you need one of their highly specialized blades. For the same amount of money you can get something much better as SOG or Cold Steel (CS products with MSRP above $100 are most of the time no-go). Tempted to get a KISS 24K gold plated, just could'nt resist the pimpy look of it.

Carry one of these in my tool kit - un-obtrusive - does a lot of the chores ( boring thru drywall for instance) that are just too brutal for a pocket knife.Good value for the money. have to admit to not being particulary impressed with some of their early efforts ( ahh -hell -they were loosy/goosey crap) - but have handeled and bought a bunch of their products in the last couple of months - some are simply practical designs and some are pretty well executed/well fited - worth what you pay for 'em tools.
Take a look/feel at what they are producing now days.

so far I'm in agreement with you all, the m16 series has held up ok for me, but I really like my Ron Lake P.A.L. conversion, yes they should use better steel, but it seems like it's getting cheaper. G.

My only CRKT is the fixed Hissatsu. Its a Japanese design and from a distance, you'd probably mistaken it for a traditional Japanese tanto.

I'd like the AG Russell Sting as well. Its a update of an old classic

My favorite, as soon as they start shipping, is the new CRKT Razel, a production collaboration with the Graham Brothers.

Considering how much I love my custom Razel, I expect the CRKT stubby razel will become my favorite fixed blade beater as soon as it arrives.

I have a KISS that I use as a money clip. I have given CRKT knives as gifts and did pre-order one of the turtles. The Sting in not an update on the original but just a copy and not as well made.

I do use one CRTK knife quite often however, when ever I go camping, hiking, etc I always take my Serengeti. The main blade is heavy enough to handle most camp chores while the two piggyback blades can handle more delicate work.

M21 prototype I got in a trade with Mr. Carson. He made me promise to use it, and I do- with pleasure!

I briefly had a cheapie M16 EDC in zytel. I didn't like it nearly as much.

Ryan Plan B is a niche fixed blade that I carry occassionally. Thought it was really funny-lookin' at first, but have grown to appreciate it.

I carry the Mo'Skeeter. It's a light, compact folder that cuts very well. @$20.

Crawford/Kasper(both zytel and pro. model) and M21 - these are my favourite crkt's.
Generally crkt is preaty good when it comes to durable, heavy duty folders.

I would love to have large apache, FS mirage in aluminium handle and crawford falcon folder - those discontinued models are nicer than new one.

Do cannibals think clowns taste funny?

I did give my father one of the Snap Locks for Christmas a couple years ago, he cut himself several times learning how to open that one fast. Very strange design...

I have more than a few CRKT knives. My favorites are the M16-03Z (but I want a Ti) and an M18. The Apache II's a good knife (discontinued), and I'd like to find an S2. Avoid the little tanto M16 at Walmart. I have a metal Rollock that's interesting, and a Point Guard. I try to get AUS-8 or ATS-34 if I can.

The CRKT knives I have left are a large and small S2. I sold all the others....just didn't like them.
