CRK VS Hinderer VS Strider

I'd rather like a Bowie blade XM-24, made before the tri-way pivot was implemented.
My XM-18 Bowie is nice, but I had to grind and sand the back of the flipper tab a bit because it irritated my index finger. The ZT 0561 is more the size of the XM-24, and fits my hand better.

I love Strider designs, but CRK is far and away the better company/product.

Hinderer does nothing for me.

I've owned and carried (on and off) a CRK for many years and they still continue to impress me hugely. I don't think there is a better made production knife as far as fit and finish, consistency of manufacturing, and overall quality is concerned. I got my first Hinderer last year, a Gen 1 Firetac that I got for a really good deal, and I really like it. It's a great knife, although the fit and finish isn't on the level of a CRK. Strider is one that I've never owned. I've always liked the designs, but have always been leery to pay the money for one because it seems to me that the fit and finish level isn't quite on the same level as CRK (I could of course be wrong, as I haven't owned one), and because of the other stuff surrounding the company.

Only have and carry Hinderer... I am sure the CRK and Striders are nice but I will likely never buy them...! Does that make me a RHK Fan Boy...? Likely...

I have owned all 3 brands, am now down to 1 Mnandi. Pls keep in mind that tight tolerances are not always desirable, especially in field conditions. Like firearms, looser tolerances are advantageous in the field ala AK-47/74s. Or even the old stock 1911A1 (45's). Less chance of jamming because of grit or sand.

I got my first Hinderer(s) and CRK early this year and my experience with both brands is awesome. For you guys suggesting LG. . . how do you find one? :)

Oh boy. Get ready for an exceptional cutting experience. LG grinds like none other. Action and release so smooth, you'll get judgy on your own collection. Go MK3!

I have an SnG in Z-wear. I love it. I’ve also had nothing but good dealings with Marissa and Josh. I don’t think I’ve ever dealt with Mick directly. I know of the sordid past though. I bought the knife before that I liked it enough that I didn’t sell it when I found out.

All three companies have a bit of ego at the top, though less so at CRK since Chris left. I haven’t heard of any negatives since then.

I personally have seen Rick do some not so savory things in the Facebook group. This along with multiple failed attempts to resolved lock up issues with Hinderer’s warranty department resulted in me selling my XM. I do miss it sometimes.

Anyway, even having never owned a Sebenza, the models I have handled always seemed like a cut above most other knives I’ve handled until I got a Demko AD20S. My SnG had far better fit and finish than my XM, which came with such an obtuse edge angle as to render it useless until I reprofiled. The XM also developed vertical play that I couldn’t correct and the Hinderer folks seemed unwilling because it was “in spec”. Strider is bank vault solid with no issues. Every Sebenza I have felt is the same way.

I have lusted after a VECP for probably a decade. I’m either not able to justify the cash or my interest in knives has waned and one of my other hobbies has taken over primary.

I just got the notification of a new Talos that is available. Or was . . it's on the way. So I guess I answered my own question.

You are gonna love the new Talos, it is incredibly smooth on washers and thumb and finger flicks with ease. Post some photos in the LG thread once you get it in hand!

Love CRK quality but the knives are a bit boring. I have several and carry them ocassionally.
Hinderer, great hard use knife, good quality, definately like the triway pivots compared to my gen 2 and gen 4's. Good solid knife that can be customized...like a AR15.
Strider, love them! Well.. love the SnG and SMF'S the most. Liked my PT but too small for my hands. I get the most satisfaction carrying a Strider. I don't know what it is. I feel they have no limits.. quality, if I'm being honest is 3rd compared to Hindy and CRK...but I'd rather carry a Strider.
*** But give me a custom Emerson and they can all stay in the drawer. 😁

**** As someone stated above, the Les George VECP v3 I had was EVERY BIT as good as a Sebenza, and more flickity = more pocket time.
