I will preface this by stating I have no agenda or actual dog in this fight. As I stated earlier in the previous thread I own 2 sebenza's a large and a small that I have been carrying for over a year with no issues. I truly enjoy owning these two knives and use not abuse these knives regulary among other knives from other manufacturer's that find their way into my daily rotation. I am not a fanboy of any brand and like and dislike knives from just about every brand.
I am not restarting this thread to attack or defend CRK. As stated I have never had a problem with CRK or had a cause to contact them so I am ignorant to their customer service practices. Due to the loyalty of the vast majority of posts about CRK I would beleive as a whole they are truly concerned about their customers and stand behind their products. As you can tell I have been an active member for a year on this forum and don't post often as I usually don't find that I have anything pertanant to add to he mix. However I have been anxiously watching this post awaitng CRK's response because the warranty is just as important to me as the quality of the product. Crk chose to start this thread and handle this issue publicly about what constitutues abuse. This has always been an issue that I have always wondered about.
I never wrist flick my knives but do thumb flick them and have always wondered if this woukd be considered abuse by CRK as I have never seen it adressed specificaly. As such I always carefully open my Sebenza's concerned that I may void my warranty. I can not afford to replace these knives and I hope to pass them on to my son some day with fond memories attached.
I have noticed too many people automatically dismissing anything that isn't 100% pro CRK. I understand this mind set as when you have alot of money and emotion invested in something some people feel the need to defend their beliefs at all costs. I am not accusing anyone of anything but believe it would be in CRK's best interest to adress this issue sooner than later.
Regardless of Mr Reeve's response I will not be rushing to sell my sebenza's and feel that my investment in his knives was a wise choice that someday my son will hopefully enjoy as well. That being said how he handles this situation will effect future purchases. I hope that posters can keep this thread civil and anxiously await a response from Mr Reeve. Thanks, Mike.
