CRKT 2009 catalog some cool new stuff

I think that CRKT has the most interesting new knives for 2009 of all knife manufacturers.

I'm not impressed, but I've never been a big CRKT fan myself. I own one from their kiss series which I like ok i guess. That new little pink one is going to my girlfriend though, shes gonna love that thing.

For me there are two or three tempting standouts:

- The Renner Mini Scharrd with white bone scales. Very elegant, very gentleman, as is the 12C27 steel. A peculiar lock. I will probably buy it.
- The Graham folding Razel, or the McGinnis Tuition sheepfoot blade.

Otherwise, as usual with CRKT, their focus on middle of the road steels is a bit depressing for me.

I certainly don't like all of CRKTs products, but I do like some and own some.

Whatever you think of the company, you have to give them credit for putting out a wide variety of new, interesting stuff. At least they are not afraid to try new designs and innovate.

BTW--I like the knife statement they make on the very last page.

I think some looked pretty decent. Not a big CRKT fan myself but some there offerings look decent enough to investigate on my part. keepem sharp

Hmm, let's see, I want:

- A full sized Natural folder
- A Ritter RSK Mk5 fixed blade neck knife (not to crazy about the 52-55RC hardness rating though)
- A Hisshou fixed blade (the big one with the 13 inch blade), just for the cool factor, and to try out the grip.
- A Kommer Integral Fixed Blade

I'm glad that they stepped up a notch in the steel they were using. As I was clicking on the catalog link, I was worried that I was going to see tons of good designs ruined with 420J2 steel. I'm glad I was mistaken.:)

This Thing Looks Pretty Cool!!!!

I think CRKT has lost it's taste completely. Tasteless, sugar coated cheap looking knives..

Really? I think its the other way around. They're offering more pocket knives with better materials and more appealing designs instead of focusing mainly on tactical designs with synthetics.

What Kim said. I find the majority of their designs to be quite attractive. I just wish that they used 154CM instead of AUS4 and 420J2, etc.

what advantage does an integral fixed blade have over a knife with normal full tang and scales. It seems really heavy for a knife with a blade just under 4 inches.

Am I the only person having problems with the link?

Nope - catalogs pdf file have been removed from the server. Unfortunately I have downloaded it on other computer, so I can't upload it right now somwhere online. But I will do it in couple of hours.
