CRKT 2009 catalog some cool new stuff

That Hisshou looks nice. I always like the Hissatsu, and this looks longer with a wrapped grip. Not particularly practical for anything I'm ever likely to encounter, but cool nonetheless :)

I can not begin to explain how excited I am that they will be offering a Graham Razel folder this year. I've been drooling over the customs, but don't have $500+ to put out on a folder.

Some people have negative things to say about CRKT, but I do not. I've always been happy with the knives I've owned from CRKT and they have performed well for what I needed them for.

Really hoping the Hisshou isn't 300 some dollars. Wouldn't mind attaching one of those to my OTV

Hmm, some designs are quite interesting, but I' m not really excited too much about anything...I guess I' ll have to look into some of their stuff when it' s released.

The Doug Ritter design is very appealing for me. I've been a fan of Mr. Ritter's designs for several years, and I'm excited to see that a very compact, very economical design is available.

I can't wait to get my hands on one---the link to www.equipped.org gives some more excellent information. I do wish they'd make a version with something other than the 3Cr13 hardened to 52-55. Something in 1095, or even the SK5 that is supposedly featured in CRKT's repertoire now would be much more in my realm of preferences.

Some cool designs, but I wish that CRKT would put out more American-made models and use some more upper-echelon blade steels.

Thanks a ton for the links. That was very nice of you! I really like the Ritter necker...

Thats higer then I thought it would be.
With that MSRP they will sell in stores for $150-170 and $125-140 on the bay.

I expected more of a $90 in store price, the ray skin probly jacks it up.

The Edgie 2 is described as "dual edged".

I've never seen a partially serrated fillet knife before.

They have some very interesting products.

LOVING the handle/flipper on the McGinnis Tuition, not crazy about the bladeshape though. I might pick one up if it's a good deal. I will certainly be keeping an eye on McGinnis though, i see some serious potential.

CRKT make totally different products than the rest. I have to commend them on that, they offer some VERY unique designs. Unfortunately most of them are not for me. Sometimes they focus TOO much on the aesthetics/being unique and the knives just look too weird.

I don't mind too much that they use lower-quality steels, as long as the price reflects that. I do find it a bit comical that they consider AUS8 a "premium" steel, when for most good manufacturers that is the minimum. IMO CRKTs are more collectors than users. Cool looks, unique opening/locking mechanisms, but not great quality.

I love the back page ad/article titled "It's okay to carry a knife". It's a great, common sense, responsible message. Nice job CRKT

That little pink one looks like a turtle
Hence the name "turtle."
I like that Tuition sheepsfoot, the folding Razel, the orange handled fixed blade, the little Ritter fixed blade, and the Natural.

Such a great blade design but too bad the steel sucks!!! Yes my fellow blade forum readers, you heard me right.YK-30 steel is nothing more than O1 steel which has a very low resistance to corrosion. So if you intend to carry any knife made out of this steel you better walk with a can of WD-40 to give it a daily lube job to keep the rust off! This information came strait from a custom knifemaker who is making a 4"fixed blade version of the Hissatsu for me.CRKT could have used AUS 8.154cm,SV-30 or D2.I still have one of the first Hissatsu's made by CRKT from AUS 8 and there isn't any sign of corrosion on it.It looks just as new as the day i got it.But if any of you insist on getting a Hisshou, you can go to A.G.RUSSELL.COM priced at $209.95 or KnifeCenter.com priced at $207.95.Both of these have the knives on back order. You can preorder them as well.CRKT do make good quality knives and they want it to be affordable as possible to the general public. But every once in a while when they come up with such a great blade design they should have them available with higher quality corrosion resistance steel especially for military folks who work in extreme environments. This is my opinion!!!
