This full size Columbia River CRKT 7503 S2 has long been discontinued and is a rare, NIB with papers, speciman.. Many people refer to this finely constructed knife by the nickname "The poor man's Sebenza" because of similarities and much lower cost for very high quality. Folks say the S-2 model was the best knife CRKT ever made. The cost of the high quality Japanese made ATS-34 steel blade plus the titanium heavy duty handle and hardware made it too expensive for CRKT to keep producing and selling at a reasonable price. Specifications:
Blade Length: 3.63" Plain edge
Blade style: Modified drop point, ramped spine with broad friction grooves
Blade grind: hollow ground Japanese made ATS-34 steel
Lock style: 6AL4V Titanium frame lock with Teflon washers for a smooth and fast one-hand opening.
Knife length: 8.5" open, 5" closed
Opening mechanism: thumb stud
Pocket clip: removable Teflon-plated stainless steel
Handle material: 6AL4V titanium with integrated steel spacers, torx fasteners, make for a light-weight and very rigid knife.
The knife is very light for it's size and extremely strong, it carries comfortably. The unique geometry of the Frame Lock transfers the load straight throught the arced lock arm into the mid-frame and keeps the contact line of the blade and lock together under the most extreme high loads. As the handle is gripped, additional pressure is applied to the lock arm increasing the safety while the CRKT 7503 S2 is in use.
Here is a great YouTube video of this S-2 knife in action.
