What do you guys think is the better $20 knife? Just curious, I want to get a more inexpensive knife to tide me over for now. ;)

I think either will do you just fine, both get good reviews. The Drifter comes in G-10 handles and the Dozier in Zytel, something to consider.

KaBar Dozier - shown here in good company and with money (w00t).

I have a large Dozier I got here on the forums and I love it. Smooth opening, solid lockup, and overall a tough knife. Gonna be picking up one of the smaller ones at some point. The large is a little big for me to edc every day.

The Drifter comes in two models, priced same:

1) G10 liner lock.
2) SS frame lock.

Both excellent value folders.

I've heard nothing but good things about both. I don't have a Dozier, but I do have both models of the Drifter (I like the stainless steel frame-lock better than the G-10 liner-lock.) I'd say go with the Ka-Bar for an outdoorsy type folder or the stainless Drifter for something a little more urban.

The Drifter looks excellent in both variations, my only pet peeve is that it's tip down carry only :/

If you wanted something with Tip-Up carry that aren't the two that you mentioned, I've been very impressed with the performance of my Kershaw Chill.

I can't talk about either but you should look into Enlan el02 or a Sanrenmu 710. I've got both and they have the same 8CR13MOV (i think)steel that's on the Drifter and its similar to the Aus 8 steel on the Dozier. They are great knives and you should look into them.

I have a 710 and don't really like it too much because of the loose, tip down pocket clip and protrusive thumb studs. The Enlans look insanely nice though, an axis type lock for sub $10!?!?!?!?!? What?

^^ Yup, its a great knife for the price... I got mine for $13 on the ebay. I think there's some video's of it on Youtube.

Just ordered the Kabar Dozier in foliage green /w black blade earlier today. Chose it over the Drifter mainly since it's tip up carry (Hate tip down). Also love the incredible 2.4 oz weight and quality materials (Not to say the Drifter doesnt have these). I'll let you guys know if it really is the $20 grail knife...lol
