Between the CRKT Drifter and the Sanrenmu 7010, is there a real difference in performance? They are both listed as 8cr13mov steel and may both be produced in the same factory. I like both, but have only the SRM and love the hell out of it. I'm assuming the only difference will be in the blade shape and grinds.

I've a CRKT drifter and it's a good knife. Takes a good edge, good lockup. I'm happy with it.

Get the one you like more, you won't notice any "performance" difference between the two.

They are likely made in the same factory. The CRKT drifter is the same as the SRM 707. With the CRKT you get a warranty at least.....

Yeah, I'd go the the Drifter between the two, mostly for the reason listed above. The Drifter is a nice little knife for the money, a bit rough around the edges, but at least you have support from Columbia River if you need a pocket clip or a handle screw. With SRM, good luck with that. Fortunately, SRMs are cheap enough to throw away and buy again, but that's not really the point of an EDC knife...

I have both and surprisingly prefer the Sanrenmu. It is much better in hand for me and I don't mind the extra weight. I don't like the recurve on the CRKT, and it doesn't feel quite as sturdy.

I've barely used the CRKT, but the Sanrenmu holds an edge like all 8cr13mov, not great. But you can get it back to shaving sharp very easy.

The thing is, they are both SRM knives. The CRKT just has their name on it and you get a warranty.
