I own a black handle one, and like it very much for the money that I paid (around $20.00 during a sale @ Big 5). The epoxy cord wrap is annoying at first, but it's something that I've somehow either gotten over, or it must have just broken in somewhat. (I think all production knives in this style use epoxy on their wrap, if there are any that don't, I'm not aware of them) I don't remember the sharpness from out of the box being particularly good, and as I intentionally used it for a potentially disposable beater, it became unusably dull rather quickly. However, it 'did' resharpen very nicely. The sheath can be changed from either vertical or horizontal depending on where you screw in the belt loop piece, though I've never taken it with me hiking, so I can't tell how comfortable it would be. The glass breaking pommel is a nice feature to have if you need it, and is also quite solidly designed. Overall It's a nice, solidly built knife, though you'd probably best bring a sharpener with you if you plan on using it for long periods at a time.
