  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Another new one from CRKT - a collaboration with Grant Hawk on his robust D.O.G. Lock folder.

D.O.G. stands for Deadbolt Over Grabstep, which operates on a similar principle as the old Gerber Bolt Action folders. The D.O.G. lock is totally ambidextrous and very smooth.

Here's a quick pic:

Clip side shot showing the minimalist clip design. By backing out one Torx screw, the clip can be switched to the other side of the handle. The clip is also mounted on a rubber bushing which allows it to move up and down slightly.

Two sets of Zytel scales are supplied - a deeply checkered set (as pictured), and a pair of fluted groove ones.

The D.O.G. Lock folder is definitely heavy duty.

I have been waiting for these to hit the shelves st s few of my favorite online stores. I hope to order one very soon:)

Interesting clip design..., thanks Dex.., and nice pictures...

Here's a shot of two DOGs with both sets of scales...

Kutch133 - my bad: I just checked the specs for the DOG and the steel is AUS-8. Sorry!

Hey man . . . can ya pull out the caliper and let me know what the blade thickness is? Would it take a pounding? I am gonna be looking for a "giveable" beater for a couple other missionaries!:D (Definitely not given away my AR! )

JB - stock thickness is 0.150" Slightly thicker than 1/8". I think it'll take a good beating and hold up well.

(Instead of giving away your AR, you can give away some of those Buck Strider 880SP's. Less expensive ;) :D )

Cool Dex . . . that is pretty thick for a production blade! AND nearly half the cost of the Buck . . . I don't like these guys THAT much!;) :p ;)
