Hi Gang- These Folders look very cool. No lock either but, they can lock. Who has one? And, can someone post a pic please?

Heya Rolf,

I don't have one, and it's because my local hardware store had one for me to handle.

They can lock, but you have to pull this little allen wrench out of the handle and stick it through a hole to make a blade stop. I could see that allen wrench parting company with the knife pretty quick.

The case also had the Drifter in it, which is what I opted for. It had a lock, a longer blade, had G10 instead of Nylon for scales, and it was cheaper.

I suppose if you were in a place that required a knife to have a short blade and no lock, you might pick this knife. But I wouldn't... I'd pack a better built traditional blade.

Go get that Sting 3B from CRKT instead.

Hey! Thanks, man.
Just because this folder is kinda cool, and good looking, I'll give one a try.
The 3B is on my list.

Update. I have the Journeyer and it's a sleeper. I just really like this folder. Mah is a fantastic knife designer.
For $30. get one and this will be a folder that will go into you rotation or just plain EDC.

Update: I just found out that the Journeyer uses a dual ball detent system to hold the blade at half-stop and open. There is a detent ball on each SS liner. What a neat design.
Liong Mah told me that this design has been around and he thinks maker in Europe came up with it but he mentioned Bob Terzuola used it too. I need to get more info.

Who can post a pic? Please? :)

Rolf, you can't post a pic? Here's one from KnifeCenter's website:

Thanks, Man!^
That mine with the Veff serrations.
I'm learning to post pix tonight.

It's a pretty ingenious concept. They really should pull a Cold Steel with their designs and with their models that are hits manufacture them with a nicer steel. A Journeyer in Elmax or 3V would be super compelling to me.

I.E. I just bought the Cold Steel Lucky in carbon fiber and CTS-XHP based on the materials + cool design. I think a lot of folks would prefer to pay extra for the upgrade in blade material.

I agree^ but it's about the price-point.
I'd like to see the the Torx screw tool holder redesigned. Maybe by using an O-ring?
This folder gets lots of pocket time.

I've had mine for a few months now and pretty much carry it all the time as I like the design, blade, and weight, plus though comfortable in my hand it is pretty thin and not bulky in the pocket.

They have the large Fossils at my local Walmart for 39$. I got that over this one but it's still one I am planning on getting.

Had to taste that name in my mouth for a while, journeyer. Jöewrnierneoyr.
