CRKT M16-14SF lock failure

I really love the looks of the CRKT M16s and was almost on the verge of buying one until I remembered all the different threads on this forum where the lock failed.

I sure hope CRKT can address these problems so that I might eventually get one knowing the knife is safe to use.

Since failures of liner lock knives are virtually unpredictable, that's one reason I stopped carrying the CRKT M21 and began carrying a Cold Steel Voyager with a 4-inch blade (I also carry the Night Force and Pro-Lite). Too many people have reported sudden failures with liner locks. I'm convinced they can be made better by reworking the design; however, no knife company has done that -- the LAWKS is the only revision of note and, frankly, I'm surprised it doesn't work flawlessly. Seems like such a good idea.

As far as an ergonomic grip is concerned, I haven't found a more comfortable knife than the CS Pro-Lite. It's a bit heavy, but that handle is wonderful.
