CRKT M16 Variations!!!!

Thank you to those that replied to my post above!

I will not get one after all.

I have had a few CRKTs and never had a problem with them.

I knew they weren't going to have the best edge-holding, compared to other brands with higher-grade blade steels.

Good choice to look elsewhere. You can get better knives for less money imo.

They don't have the best edge holding compared to other brands with the exact same steel(Aus 8),never mind better steels. It is how they use the steel that is the issue. They either grind their blades after heat treat without proper cooling causing damage to the heat treatment or they just don't know how to properly heat treat the steel they use. I have had knives that were half the price that held and Edge better.

I will say though, my M16 is still going strong and has always worked fine mechanically although I never used it much because it would dull so fast. It was my first flipper though so I keep it as a beater.

Many of mine have been problem free too. Just not the M16 series. Mine were purchased for under $25 bucks and at that price it is a fine knife for the money. Like I said, for sixty or seventy dollars you can do much much better.

I am curious, if you don't get a M16, what are you planing to buy?

Well, now that Cold Steel has upgraded to Carpenter CTS-BD1 and CTS-XHP.

I will be getting more of them. Especially the Olive Drab G10 versions.

Plus the 5.5-inch version of the Warcraft Tanto by the end of the year.
