crkt m16

I live in some modern downtown and usually have no necessary to use a fixed blade

so what about you ?

I live in the woods, I've never needed a fix blade. I'm not off fighting people of defending my life with some fancy fighting technique and I have a hatchet, axe and saw for anything else I'd need a fixed for.
Also I love the autolawks, makes a lot of sense to me. It is a good cheap way to make a folder like this withstand more than it ever should.

I have carried a CRKT M13-Z3 for a couple of years. The AUS 4 is not a premium steel. It takes a good edge, but has only moderate retention. Still, the knife performs well. It makes a good EDC, and stands up to hard use.
The flipper lever opens it quickly too.

I prefer the regular LAWKS, so I can choose if I use it or not. Easier to close, too

Definately, I hated the autoLAWKS when I first got it, still don't like it, I would much rather be able to use it if I want to, rather than be required to use it

remove a little spring ,and the auto LAWKS becomes LAWKS

I used to EDC an M16-10Z until I replaced it with a Spydie Tenacious. It really is a nice knife considering I payed less than $20 tax included for it and I never was bothered by the autoLAWKS lock. I've actually been thinking of picking up a spear point M16.

I'm going to be testing out a CRKT model for some old bro's and wouldn't without the LAWKS mech. Regular liner or frame lock mechanisms can have the lockbar slip easily with water, lubricant, etc.

It seems like the company is going full circle after a little qc and materials shift years back but we'll see. Some old versions of the M-16 style held up good for dudes buying them and actually using them.

Most knives you see on the web look new after a couple years because they are not used for much.

Nope, tried that. The original LAWKS system had detents in both the open and closed position to hold the lock either open or closed. The AUTOLAWKS only has that spring. When I removed the spring, the lock just flopped back and forth.
