Crkt m16?

Mate,

I have knives coming out of every orifice :)

The M16 range was the first one that I started to collect and use. FWIW I nearly had the whole M16 & M21 range but decided to sell them all. BUT I kept the small Ti version.

I have gone towards more hard use and my collection has also ventured more toward Spyderco, and I have an extensive collection of users and safe queens of them.

Stop buying from King of Thieves and look more in here, on eBay and CEK & tassienerida as mentioned.

My M16 Ti is currently unused in my EDC drawer and if you are interested you can email me at ozspyder [at] gmail [dot] com :) It's a waste being unloved.

Cheers
Daniel

Well...I emailed king of thieves (trust me, the only thing i purchased from them was that crappy knife) and asked them how much it would cost me to get a M16-13LE ordered in. If they give me a ridiculous price ill just get it ordered from newgraham (I got my CQC-7 from them)

I've had my M16Z for almost 10-years now. I have the spearpoint without the LAWKS and I like it because I can easily strop it back to hair-popping sharpness. Good 'starter' knife to learn the flipper and how to easily resharpen while still serving as a reliable EDC. Decent knife for a decent price (USA price, not Aussie pricing though.)

Good news! When I went today to return the crappy knife, I got my money back rather than store credit! I am now just deciding if I should order from newgrahm or cuttingedge. Newgrahm is cheaper but I'm worried about customs (I got my cqc when I was in new zealand and everything went smoothly). My question to my fellow Aussies is: how much shipping did you pay when you got your knives from newgraham? Also, did customs give you any trouble?

Thanks in advance

Tell NGK to tighten down the pivot screws before sending, because if customs can release the blade by shaking it, then they will classify it as a gravity knife.

But apart from that it should be fine?
Yes, if the pivot screw is tightened, it should be fine, but if there is a swedge on it, customs may be bitches about it and seize it because "you can sharpen the swedge to make it a dagger", which is stupid because any knife can be reground into a dagger.

:thumbup::thumbup: Sweet knife! the CRKT will not compare to that IMO. I would recommend kershaw, benchmade or spyderco. I think CRKT is ok, but there is better out there I feel.

Yeah i love it as well, but It's a bit too mean for an EDC and plus its slightly on the heavy side at 4oz :grumpy:, its rock solid though :D.

i wouldnt have an CRKT M16 unless it was the Ti or carbon fibre version, poor steel poor locks, poor material and poor F&F.

the only con to the Ti or CF versions is the price, they run about what a good spyderco or BM would cost, & at that price i'm not that crazy about the design.

the FRN or aluminum hndled ones are at best imho "ok" and they just wont stand up to heavy use, i have had lock problems with several CRKT's myself (kaspers and M16's) and i dont use my folders hard at all.

i also dont like lawks, and like the auto lawks even less, a well fitted and designed liner lock doesnt need that anyway, but since the CRKT LL's arent either of the above they do need them i guess lol, the poor steel on some i can live with ya just gotta sharpen them more often, the poor locks are imho another story entirely though.

my fav thing about CRKT is the designs, they have some cool ones from good 'smiths, i liked the design of the kaspers so much i got a custom crawford kasper and perfigo and like them a lot, got a companion and ended up with a polkawski one too, for SD imho the CRKT companion in some custom kydex is a lotta knife for the $$, of course it doesnt compare well to the polkawski version.
