I had a CRKT Apache III which went out of production around 2001. I shot them an email because one of the nylon washers were going bad and starting to rip up. I was hoping they could send replacement washers or at least tell me the size so I could order new ones... Instead, they offered to give me a store credit for the MSRP of the knife ($74.99) as part of their lifetime warranty as they didn't have replacement parts or info on the knife anymore. After debating if I wanted to lose such a long friend, I figured I wouldn't mind using some other CRKT cutlery, so I opted to return the Apache to them, and replace it with an M16 and a Pazoda II which I will be paying roughly $5 for.
I love to see a company stand behind their product, especially after the product has been discontinued! CRKT has made me feel very good about purchasing knives from them, and I definitely plan on doing it again in the future!
