Hey folks - been in & out for a while and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with stubby folding Razel from CRKT yet? Seems like it would make a nice utility blade with a small size signature.

I tried the search but not much luck.

Also, If any of you lucky ones at Blade Show this year get a chance to handle one, lemme know what ya think.

Thanks in advance -

I got the opportunity to handle a Stubby folding Razel while visiting the Graham Bros last year. The knife I handled was unfinished so it was a bit heavier than the finished product, but it was a great knife. The geometry, to me, seemed to be spot on. The handle scales were installed but not complete.

The thumb stud was in the perfect position so you don't have to shift your grip around to open the knife. Also, the knife I handled did not have a lock on it yet so I can't comment on that.

I plan on buying one from CRKT at some point. I've got a couple of FB Razels and love the design a lot. My ringed Razel probably sees more use than any of my other FBs combined. Is the perfect knife out in the yard and messing around in the garage.

I don't think you'll be dissapointed at all.

Did you happen to have any experience with the larger foldiing razel? I'm trying to decide between the two - I like both large and small knives...it's a tough choice...and, yes, I know, I should just get both, lol.

Nope - sorry.

That large folder looks to be a great knife though. The only thing I don't like is that it has two pocket clips. If you were to remove either there is a void left and it would probably look a little goofy.

myright,
Thanks for the feedback. The fixed, ringed Razel is on my list to go in a back pocket sheath and I figured the stubby would compliment anything else I carry - OR - just as a stand alone, in certain circumstances.
I really don't think I'd care for the larger folding Razel. Besides, that would kind of negate the fixed, ringed in my opinion.

Thanks again "my",

Gibby

I might try the large one. I admittedly don't like the handle material on the smaller one. Plus that blade is a little small for me. Looks like a neat design tho. Either way, they won't break the bank.

Just received my folding razel today and so far it looks good. This is a beast of a little knife! Small but very solid feeling and the framelock is rock solid. I plan on using this one hard so I'll check back in a week or so and give you my impressions. Looks exactly like what I need for some light prying and wire stripping, among other things. Rams horn scales are nicely figured and fit the frame well.
