CRKT

Jim,

Harrasment by petty bureaucrats is always a problem. Especially, when the administration seems hell bent to weaken due process and 4th amendment protections. Just look at the stuff that was going on in L.A. I would have fired most of them and had the rest shot.

...And so the system works after all...

Congrats CRKT.

I will add to some of the naysayers and those with a conspiratorial bent, that it would be USCS that would make the determination that the detention was in error and release the goods. This is overwhelmingly the way in which it works. I know because I have worked in the system (on the criminal investigation side) for many years.

Does this cause delay, up to and including hardship and financial loss? Yes, sometimes it does. This is a problem with enforcing manifold rules, regulations and laws which range from the Dept. of State, Dept. of Commerce, Office of Foreign Asset Control etc. Yet they (USCS) remedied the situation without a watchdog or Supreme Court ruling.

Those of you who think USCS has a particular vendetta agains CRKT or knives in general just really have no clue regardless of how much saber rattling and ranting you do. They enforce the laws of the US as created by Congress as well as Executive Orders. Plain and simple in almost all cases. And yet mistakes will continue to be made. Mistakes, not attempts by rabid individuals to deprive citizens of their rights. There is a difference.

There are problems that need to be addressed, but sticking to facts instead of spreading hysteria would serve that cause better imho.

I'm glad the decision went for CRKT, it was the right one and I had no doubt that it would be reached as I had told Kit in my telephone conversation with him when this matter was first brought to my attention.
