Croc Hunter Dies :(

I am just floored by Steve's death. It has hit me very hard. Despite his job, he was the last person I expected to die. It would not have surprised me to read that Tom Cruise choked to death on gorilla placenta or that Kelly Osbourne killed herself with a weedeater. You expect that. Steve was so far above those OTHER people that, to me, this is a crushing blow. I am very sad. I feel for his family. Steve seemed like a truley nice person. Hunter in his name was a misnomer, Steve Irwin, The Crocidile's Best Friend.
We will miss you Steve.

I was reading through some of the other threads about his death on some of the other blade forum boards. It appears poor Steve didn't have a chance. A stinger that size with that sort of toxin to hit that area. From what I hear, it wouldn't have mattered if he was stung by the ray in a hosipital. There is only so much you can do with an 8" poisonous barb shoved through your cardiac muscle. I'm really saddened by his death, more so than I thought I would be.

This is tough for his fans, as well as the people of Australia. My family and I loves his shows. Through all of his antics, he has helped to open the world's eyes to nature, wildlife and environmental problems. He was a great man and will be missed. Smoke and prayers to his family.:(

Awww man! I liked him. And he loved possums!

But he went doing what he loved best. I am very sad about this. I loved his porgrams.

Tom?

Would you fault him if he ate crappy fast food, drank too much, spent most days sitting in "safety" on his couch, and then died of a heart attack at 44. It happens quite a bit here in the U.S.A. and probably Australia too...

Kids will miss us when we go. They may resent us for their own reasons when we die. The best we can do is live the way our hearts tell us to and show our kids how to live life to the fullest.

R.I.P. Crocodile Hunter. He died the way he lived on the edge that is the true sign of a professional. Smoke and prayers for his family and friends.

Man, I loved Steve Irwin. I watched him all the time when I was a kid and not infrequently as a college student. I even have his full length VHS movie (yes, he did actually make a non-documentry film!).

It always seemed inevitable...I feel terrible for his wife and very young children. It must be a huge loss for the Australia Zoo also.

But if Steve had to go, I'm glad he went doing what he loved. I would have been much more bothered if a guy had spent 30 years holding crocodiles and picking up venomous snakes only to die by slipping in the shower....
I hope that isn't taken the wrong way.

I was seriously bummed out over this. My father as well. But at least he died doing what he loved to do. Quite the man indeed.

Prayers for his kids and wife from HI and Kamis
