This question is way ahead of it's time for me but the thought crossed my mind this morning while I was browsing the NEWBIE forums. When does a "newbie" cross the line to ~~~~~"Custom Knife Maker"~~~~~?

Just wondering

A newbie is a custom knife maker. Hes just a new one.

I knew I made a mistake when I made the statement.:foot: I know a newbie is a custom knife maker. What I meant was when does he loose the "NEWBIE" status or tag?

dont know yet
i still think im a noob and ive been at it like 4 years and 2 of then sorta part time

One of the nice things about being a "custom Knifemaker", is there is always something new to learn. We are all newbies at something in this Obsession of ours. When you stop learning i guess is when you are no longer a newbie. That will be when i am cold and buried.

 when your orders come before the knives that you are planning to make :D

i started trying to make knives in march of 2005. I had to lay off from January of this year until about 3 weeks ago, so i have about 10 months of buying trying and crying under my belt. :) I still consider myself a Custom Steelmangler. I will become a Custom Knifemaker when I finally make a knife that I am not embarrased to sell:D
