Crowned spines

My WE Deacon has a crowned spine, but yes most knives I see and own do not have it. I can take it or leave it. Its a nice aesthetic on a more gentlemanly knife, but not a deal breaker at all.

Italy is definitely in to aesthetics (I'm half Italian). I believe many knives have a flat top due to people (like me) putting their thumbs on the spine when cutting heavier stuff, and there is a reduced likelihood of the thumb slipping off. In the case of my Deacon, it has some light jimping, reducing this.

However, despite wearing a size large glove, I have stupid long thumbs, to the point that it keeps my other fingers from reaching the end of the glove. So, the jimping on many knifes is useless to me, so I appreciate a squared off spine.

Guys....I was just making a general comparison between US manufacturing cost vs overseas cost. I know Microtech isn’t necessarily comparable to Lionsteel and that other companies make better knives. It was just a GENERALIZATION to illustrate a point
