I have been using Cru Forge V (CRV)with great success....Has anyone else been trying the stuff...It seems to really really really hold an edge. It is forgable and heat treatable in ones own backyard...On Page 42 of the December issue of Blade I have one of my blades in Wayne Goddards articles made of CRV...Just curious if anyone else is having the same happiness and success with CRV...The Vanadium Carbides added with the Chromium Carbides seem to add the extra abrasiveness and edge holding to the blade I have noticed.... What is really cool about the stuff is that is differentially heat treatable making a un-breakable blade...One thing is for sure, the fit and finish is a bear due to the Vanadium in the matrix....

Is anyone else using CIP composites made here in Eugene Oregon for knife making material? I am having good success with the stuff...It seems to work a little easier and tends to grip better especially when wet than bead blasted Micarta in my opinion...The company is offering it to the knife making market and really recommend it for knife scales....Jeff
