This next offering is a cool "every day carry" style fixed blade knife in the awesome Cru Forge V carbon steel. Cru Forge V is a 1% carbon steel with a little chromium added to make it tough and also contains a decent amount of vanadium. The vanadium keeps the grain size extremely small, but there is also enough of it to actually form primary vanadium carbides, which adds overall wear resistance. This alloy was made with the idea of having a steel that responded very well to forging and would give good heat treat results without a temperature controlled oven. When normalized, cycled, and quenched with a short soak at the target temperature, the result is better than "good", it's "excellent"! At a final Rockwell hardness of 63HRC, this blade will cut and cut, and I am always amazed at the wear resistance of this steel when the knife is sharpened. With a behind-the-edge thickness of about 0.010", the grind is thin but thick enough to handle some abuse. Sharpened by hand with DMT DiaSharp plates, EC, C, F, EF, and it is very, very sharp! The handle is made from Purple Heart, and is secured with epoxy and brass pins. This knife feels like it "locks" in my hand with a standard forward "hammer" grip.

OAL: 7 3/8" (187.3mm)
Blade: 3 1/8" (79.4mm)
Handle: 4 1/4" (108mm)
Thickness: 0.103" (2.6mm)
Steel: Cru Forge V @ 63HRC
Edge: ~30° inclusive, 1200 mesh diamond

Pics of sheath? Also, is there an email address I may contact you at? Been wanting to try out this steel for a long time..

I've been waiting for you to make more CRU-V for a while, I'll take it.

First test is to see if it cuts the pairing knife or the pairing knife cuts it???
