Well I got a small hunting knife forged, heat treated and sharpened. The steel forged really easy compared to 52100 which I use in all my hunting knives. I would say it forged like 5160 to me. I heat treated the knife with spec on USA knifemakers supplies. I went out today with a 52100 knife of the same spec and chopped a bunch of wood to test them. Both held up really well on the edge. Both we razor sharp both before and after being check with my super duper arm shaving technique. One thing I did notice was the Cru forge V was cutting more hairs. I would say it would be like a dull razor and sharp both shave hair but one take more skin then hair. I still want to do more wood chopping and then destroy the knife in the bend test, this will be delay till my hair grows back to test again.
Thanks for reading, let me know what you thank about the Cru Forge V
