I have been using this profile the past year and I really do like it. Feels great in the hand regardless of what grip you're using. The steel is Crucible's Cru Forge V, which is a 1% carbon steel with a bit of vanadium for added wear resistance over a steel like O1 or 1095. You may recall Cold Steel's "Carbon V". CFV is much like that steel, but with more vanadium. It performs extremely well for a low alloy steel. Of course the steel needs a good heat treat, and I pride myself on taking the time to give all of my knives the best heat treatment I can. Even though CFV is supplied ready to harden, I can improve on the factory normalizing and anneal processes, namely by normalizing at the correct temp, thermal cycling to help refine grain, and a DET anneal to keep the carbides small and round. After a soak at a precise temp and a fast oil quench, the blade undergoes a sub zero "cryo" treatment. After triple tempers, the hardness is 62-63HRC with a very fine grain structure and very fine and even carbide dispersion. The blade has a full flat grind terminating in a thin edge for great cutting ability, and has a hand rubbed satin finish. The handle is made from black walnut and the bolster is black micarta, and has white g10 liners and spacers. For sharpening, I apexed on an India stone, then refined on a hard Arkansas stone, and the final polish on a translucent Arkansas stone. I hadn't used those stones in a while, and I'm glad I decided to use them! They leave a great edge. This knife works very well for just about anything you might need a knife for, and even works great in the kitchen with the thin grind. Kydex sheath included!

Paypal preferred (samuraistuart@yahoo.com). This is also my email address, so if would like to contact me, send me a PM through this site or send me an email. All of my knives include free shipping in the USA as well as a lifetime worry free warranty. If anything goes wrong with the knife, I'll repair or replace it. You can't beat that! I would also like to mention that most all of my work includes thin stock, thin grinds, thin edges, low angles, and high hardness. All of this combines for excellent edge retention and a very pleasurable cutting experience. I ask that the buyer understand that my knives are not made for the masses like most commercially available knives. They are tools meant to be used as intended and with care and common sense.
