Cru-ForgeV and Madagascar Rosewood

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the posts and feedback.

Stuart- thank you. The fuller at the butt end is just hand filed. I've tried roughing it out on the belt, but it seems to get it even and looking the way I want, I always go back to hand filing it. I can show you how to really screw some stuff up with the belt grinder sometime though. ;) :)

Jacob- you are right, the wood is really rich and beautiful. I spend a lot of time trying to get good pictures actually. It's not just an afterthought. I've bought some photo equipment and have read many online tutorials. But like anything else, there's a reason why the pros are pros. :) I have a particularly difficult time with bright blades and with some woods. In this case, both were present and I had to settle on a compromise. I haven't figured out the lighting and reflectors aspect of photography or their proper positioning yet. And I've never messed with editing photos with any kind of photo shop type service. I'm lucky if I can get the photos posted.

Anyway, the wood is one of my favorites. Very beautiful and rare. It's a deep dark burgundy with black lines in it. Working this type of wood leaves piles of chips, shavings and dust that look like crumbs of red velvet cake. There is no other wood like it.

Perfect handmade , guard ,ferrule ,blade etc ... is magnific congrats .A small hunter that we would like to have often near self

Clean and classy.
Larry Bailey would love this, I know I do.
A Paul Long burgundy ostrich inlay sheath would be perfect.
Great work, John.

Don't get me wrong, I know how hard it is to get good pictures and I seriously doubt I could do better myself. I'm just admiring the mystique of the wood :)

Excellent piece Brother. You got all the basic elements right, then took it to the prom.
