Cruisers and Connecticuts

Still waiting for Coop to let me take that Knot Klipper off his hands........

And I'm still waiting for you to let me take that RR hatchet off your hands.

It would look great among my small collection of Milwaukee Road tools. Plus it would be back home - I live right near the old railroad bed which is now a regional trail.

This thread is getting off track, I'll fix it since I found my camera. My one Connecticut, never used since the handle lost the last 6 inches during handling.

That said, Double Ott, you otter let me know if your love of flint edge Connecticut is greater than flint edge cruisers. :p

The metal wedge is exactly as you see it, goes down about an inch and has "tabs" that hold it in. Can't use it like a wedge, the handle has to be a tight fit. One of these came with the axe / original handle, but I found about half a dozen at a flea market one time. Lemme know if you want pics.

And thanks Coop.

some small ~8-9"cruisers - some I have refurbed and others waiting. 3x HB's, 2x Plums, 1 Collins, and one unknown. The walters snuck in.

I was out checking around my local antique shops and sunday markets and happened acrost this True Temper Connecticut (At least i think it is) and picked it up for 7 dollars. It has True Temper Welland Vale stamped on it, And with me living in canada and welland vale being true tempers manufacturing base in canada (until 1965) thought it would be a welcome addition to my collection.

Which one you talking about? I cant remember.

The CMSt.P&P broad hatchet.

Apologies to the OP for going off topic.

Its yours. Ill be in contact for info and shipping. I feel it is going to a good home and towards a great collection. I will ask no money but I will ask for pics of the total collection to be posted sometime at your leisure. I love stuff like this. Sorry for the wait.

Now, more axes!

A Mann Quickcut Connecticut and a Collins Cruiser accompanied me to elk camp. Both GREAT axes. Cooperhill gave the Mann to me.
