Cruwear Military Questions...

This will be my first time purchasing a Sprint Run (hopefully) as soon as it's released, so I'm curious about a couple things:

A rough price estimate.

And a (again, rough) timeframe for release. A couple weeks or maybe a month or more? I ask because I'd like to set aside a few bucks as my "Millie Fund" so I can pull the trigger as soon as I see one.

Thanks.

Price around $145

Hopefully be released within the next few weeks.

I've got a few bucks set aside in my Military fund too... just waiting to pounce on one when they're released!

I'm really hoping it doesn't get "paramilitary" crazy. Working strange hours makes it hard to get one within the first couple of hours.

One more question....where is the best place to get it online? There are no more pre-orders available anywhere. Do most people order sprints from Spyderco.com directly or go through one of the big blade sites?

The best place to buy it is from wherever it's in stock!!! Seriously, though, most of the big name companies have stopped pre-orders due to issues w/ past sprints/exclusives. I would suggest signing-up to be notified by email when it's in stock at any of the BFC-approved dealers: GPKnives, New Graham, Knifeworks, Howes, Knifecenter (sorry if I forgot any). These are all reputable sellers with competitive prices and good customer service. For this sprint (Cruwear Millie), I wouldn't fret over paying a few extra dollars since it looks like it's gonna be popular and possibly hard to find. I think Spyderco.com's prices are generally higher because they don't want to undercut their authorized sellers (bad for business). Just be vigilant when they start hitting the street. Good luck!

I have three on pre-order from KC. However, they are no longer accepting preorders. If you missed your chance to pre-order, your probably going to have to buy one on flea-bay at inflated prices. Or, maybe get lucky and score one on the forum exchange. Good luck, I'm hoping mine come through the are not guaranteeing I will get them, but told me I have an 80 percent chance.

I don't have a pre-order, I hope I'm not screwed.

Spyderco keeps doing small runs of great steels, couple the bad-assnes of both the Para2 and Millys, and it's not hard to see why the huge demand and high prices they demand. I'd love a Carbon fiber M90 Military, but they sell North of $500, Ouch.

I just have a S30v Military, but hope to expand my steel selection SOON!!!!!

Spyderco is aware of the issues with the aftermarket and I think they will produce larger runs in the future.

The Military is not in quite as much demand as the Para2 because it is a little big for some people and/or some jurisdictions. For instance it is made in Colorado but can't be carried there because the blade is longer than 3.5". (hope I got the facts straight there)

I have not found a pre-order from any other dealers except KC.Has anyone heard any news about this knife's release?

I preordered mine in early June from KC.

Anyone care to guess whether or not I'll get one. lol

Can somebody tell me about this model? I'm not finding it at KC or anywhere else.

KC had a pre-order up for a long time, but they cut it off a few weeks ago and then actually pulled all info on it recently. Other sites have a page set up for it, but aren't taking orders yet. Sal stated in anothed thread that he was carrying one and that they were getting ready to ship, but again this was several weeks ago with no other news...

There is an interesting thread in the other forum that discusses Cruwear steel. Apparently it is very similar in composition to 3V.

3v, PD1, Z-wear, etc were all derived from Cruwear and vascowear. This is also the first time CPM-Cruwear has been used in a production knife. This is going to be flat out awesome

Anyone have any updates on these bad boys? I am looking for a new blade, but I really want it to be this one!!!!

Sometime between now and Black Friday. Is my guess. FWIW, someone with good authority told me sometime in November.
