I have the rat 1 and a Cryo! I love them both and they make a great combo carry!

I used to own the g10 version of the cryo 2. I ordered it through Amazon and I anticipated the handle to be slightly longer. So I ended up selling it. It was a good knife. But I prefer my Spyderco Delica 4 ffg

You can check out my Titanium coated Cryo in this vid, where it makes an appearance with its "bastid" cousin, the Kershaw Median :D

First let me say that I appreciate everyone's help over the past several days with the best EDC for my needs...your expertise and patience with my questions have been a tremendous help.

After much looking, reading, viewing, researching, holding, operating, etc. hundreds of knives, I've narrowed my choice down to three knives: Ontario Rat II (silver blade), Kershaw RJ Tactical 3.0, and the Kershaw Cryo.

Really love the feel of the Cryo and it checks all the boxes I'm looking for (under 3" blade, flipper, under $40, decent blade, great first knife, etc.) but the amount of tremendous reviews for the Rat II make it a tough knife to ignore.

The question I have concerning the Cryo is: for those of you who have owned this knife, which finish (G10, Blackwash, Titanium) did you go with, and did you have any problems with the fit and finish of the model you chose?

I like the look of the Blackwash but would assume the G10 Is easier to grip/hold onto?

Thanks for your help!!!

I had the Cryo and gave it away. Hated it. I could never get the blade even close to centered and had constant issues with the pivot hardware.
I am much happier with the rat 2

I have a Cryo II with titanium scales and other knives with G-10, and I prefer the steel handles. Slides in and out of the pocket easier and I like the "look" better as well (easier to clean). Never had a problem with a knife slipping out of my hand, but the apples and boxes I cut are the tame variety - might be different with a frisky one...

my post from another thread asking of Kershaws.

I have one Kershaw. It is the Cryo. I bought it as it checked a few boxes for me.

It is smallish, yet still substantial (I know some of the hardcore EDC folks preach for the featherweights but I like some heft.)
It is a Frame lock (wanted to try and now really like)
It is a Flipper (Again wanted to try and now like)
It is a Hinderer design at a beater price. (real ones not really in my Knife budget)

I love the knife! and because of that win for me I will likely go for the Kershaw/Emerson collaboration as well. (it has the wave feature which I wouldn't mind trying.)

Mine is the plain Ti version as seen in the pic. Thats the only option that was available when I bought mine.
I do agree with the comments about the thumb studs being not so well thought out on this model. but this was a non issue for me as I wanted a flipper to play with.
To the comments on it being "slick and slippery" I don't find it so...not overly anyway or enough to be a determent.

To push further in favor of the cryo (any flavour). I will at some point likely go for a cryoII in blackwash :D.
