Well, I plan on purchasing a Cryo for my first "real" knife but I was wondering if there was any other information on it that you guys/gals might think that I won't know? Also, are there any types of variations? Thanks in advance.

I bought one last night at our local knife show and can't put the damn think down
It's the best little flipper I have ever owned for $35.00
It may knock my Kershaw Needs Work out of the number one position
Im going back to the knife show today and there is a Very Good chance I will own 2 of them

Just some quick facts

- Hinderer inspired design
- Assisted opener (Torsion bar)
- If your torsion bar breaks, CS will ship you one for free
- Your first "real" knife is an amazing choice :D

I forgot to add but a very popular online retailer had it for an amazingly low price yesterday. The price keeps fluctuating now and then so just keep an eye out =)

I wouldn't have been introduced to these knives if it wasn't for BladeForums.

It's a fine first knife. I would add that it has a deep carry clip. It can make getting at the knife a bit more difficult than one that sticks out a bit more. For me it took a little time to adjust but now it's second nature.
Mine has been high up in the EDC rotation since arriving. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Been carrying the Cryo for the last couple of days (just got it on Friday). It's a heavier knife than the ones I typically EDC, but I don't notice the difference when it's clipped to the inside of my pocket. It's a pretty compact knife, so it hides away in the pocket well. The weight difference is most noticeable when doing a side-by-side comparison with lighter knives. When using it, though, the weight is really not noticeable. It opens up as quick as lightning, fits comfortably in hand (~3.5 finger grip for medium sized hand), and feels very solid during use.

That would be nice if it was a little bit lighter.

You can lighten up the knife by getting a CF scale for it :D

I've had mine for about two months or so and I really like it. The torsion bar on mine actually snapped, but I just sent it back and Kershaw's customer service sent me a new one very quickly. Like others have said - it's a bit heavier than a Skyline or Delica for a small folder, but I find that I really don't notice the weight when it's clipped to my pocket.
