Well I gave this knife a good try during deer season. I used the knife to field dress and skin a couple nice Mule deer then used it some for boning out the meat. This knife is worth much more than the ten bucks it sells for. It needed no sharpening to still shave hair off. This was my first trial of the 4116 Krupp. This knife at least is worth every cent. It performs almost on Par with my Grohmann of the same design.

I hate Cold Steal but I have a couple of their products I LOVE. The norse hawk, CarbonV prothrow(with modded edge and custom Rainwalker sheath) and shovel are all really first rate for the price. I would like a Bushman and a trail hawk but have not been able to get over the business practices. The Canadian knife is a blatant rip off of the Ghroman but most people don't want to pay 70$.

At least three companies make the Canadian belt knife including KOA. Several other companies have copies to close to not regognize. I love the Grohmann and have had it for years but at one sixth the price, it hard to beat the CS.

I have a Roach Belly, I let my wife us it in the kitchen, now I have get another one.

It's been said before, but the Finn Bear is also a great knife for the price.

I have all four of the newer 4116 Knives. The Finn Bear, Roach belly, Belt Knife and Kudo. A lot of knives for 37.00. I will pick up another half dozen for Xmas gifts.

While not a CS fan...I have to agree; for the money the 4 new CS offerings are really good knives. I have the Kudu and Finn Bear, and use them often. I am thinking the Roach Belly will join my AG Russell Woodswalker in my kitchen...lol.

I too have a Kudu and like it. The steel is like a stainless 1055, so it works like an Okapi without the worry about rust. I call it my "Okapi Copy" or "O-Copy" for short.

Needless to say, I try to be as confusing as possible whenever possible.

I felt that the Kudu was very hard to sharpen, and I've sharpened a lot of knives. Maybe I got a bad one.

I like the Canadian Belt Knife, and just bought two. The steel on it seems much better and easier to resharpen than the Kudu (yes, I know they're both 4116 Krupp).

So its all about price..again this bang for buck psychosis. Why don't you take a look at that knife? Plastic and metal..cold styleless function. Thats why it is so inexpensive..that and made by people who struggle to survive on less than two dollars a day like two thirds of the world do. As soon as I saw that knife I was immediately REPULSED by how cheapo it looked. I could give a hell how much its worth the money..lifes too short for ugly like that in something I love. I am about trying to find treasure in this disposable WAL*Mart culture wasteland. I think we have reached the point of diminising returns when it comes to shipping american jobs over seas or south of the border. If we don't have jobs and money how the heck are we soppossed to support all the businesses "forced to follow the trend " to say "competitive" The problem is all the rich people that have to have a return on thier investment when they are shareholders in corps. Its hardwired into the business model: CEO makes profits no matter what or he gets fired and replaced by someone who will. So the majority does not rule in this very important case. Chew on that.

I use mine for yardwork. I've dug weeds with it, trimmed vegetables and then toss it in my ruck for a hike later in the day to gather mushrooms. keeps a decent edge for a good days work.

Tell us how you really feel, Bro'. :D

Get off your high horse holier than thou attitude. I don't like the Walmart buy everything in china economy either but I don't care if the knife looks cheap to someone else. I spend my money on what I want rather than what someone else thinks I should buy or not buy. I can do nothing about the conditions that people live under in some third world country. I wish I could but with companies like Walmart buying all of their products, there is precious little my few bucks can do. Yes, sometimes its about money because some of us don't have much of it and don't choose to take advantage of low cost products that work. It makes more sense to me to save money than to spend it on snob hardware. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

About six pulls through my CHEAP edgemaker had the Kudo Shaving sharp.

As a single father with custody of 4 kids, and an ex who never pays me child support...I will continue to get the "best bang for my buck"...thank you.

I hate the Cold Steel mall ninja marketing, paranoia (gotta hide knives all over the house and walk with a war club) and bloated windbag blustering by the owner, but love their inexpensive knives.

No way in heck am i paying $75 CDN for a Groham when i can buy the same thing for $10. Lose it, no biggie. loan it out and dont get i back, no biggie.

the Canadian knife is super easy to put a razor hone it, and performs flawlessly.

Bang for the buck indeed!!! freaking KABOOM! for the buck :D

The Finn Bear and Canadian Belt Knife are both great blades in my opinion. They're cheap and effective so if its lost or stolen then its nothing to worry about. Perfect for leaving at a cabin or in a BOB in the trunk.

Ex-Wives are great!.....As long as you don't overcook them! :D

These knives are made in Taiwan , which has an economy akin to some european nations ,,, at the very least ,, they are not 3rd world.
