lock works damn well I even threw it couple of times , just like new nothing at all .
lock has a lot more travel then regular back lock , you really need to press it to open .
spyderco chinook and recon . you can see difference in lock traveling distance .

knife has no steel liners just thick g10 .

.
only problem I found was a clip , it is so tight you will kill your pants so I bend mine to make it little more pocket friendly .

I had one with an old handle design which was a great knife. Used it for about everything. It was a little big but nice for the money I paid. Nice pictures.

That's the new handle design in the OP.

Nice pics.

I really dig the new Recon 1. I had a hell of a time choosing between one with a clip point or a tanto point. Clip point won out, but I still keep thinking that I'll get around to adding a tanto version to my collection.

Me too, and was also sorely tempted by AK-47. Clip won out here too. Tanto might come along in the future when they're clearing them out and the price is right.

Damnit, finally going to have to get a triad locking knife. Can't see anything I don't like on that one. lol

I've been carrying the mini lawman along with a Spyderco Military, and it's a very nice little blade.

I have never use one, but my guess is that the tri-ad lock will take a lot of abuse without any blade play, but it will wear down the mechanism, and just as it is meant to it will compensate, to maintain a tight lock up. All of a sudden though, the lock will have run out of room for wear and will very quickly get blade play which is unfixable.

Just a guess

I am also curious as to how they will hold up without any liners. G10 is tough, but how tough? I wish I could track down one with liners to try since they only have a 1 year warranty and the time I contacted them they basically blew me off.

A drawing is available of the locking mechanism but it is hard to tell how much it can adjust for wear. With the lock flush with the back of the knife there is only so far it can travel down to adjust for wear before it bottoms out.

Time will tell and I bet quite a few get beat on pretty good with all the 'hard use' publicity they are receiving.

I always liked the way the old Recon 1 tanto looked, not sure how I feel about the new design. The angle looks a bit too close to 90degrees for me.

Why food? Why? Great pics though.
1. I was in the place without kitchen knife .
2. WHY NOT ??? I wanna test this knife anyway .
..
I wonder how long this knife can take this kind of use , it doesn't have steel liners and I don't believe g10 will holdup as well as steel , but I got it for $62 , I guess its worth it any way.
