CS Ti-Lite?

I have a zytel one. If you are going to use your knife as a self-defense carry and for opening mail then this is a fine tool. The craftsmanship is excellent for the price. And at this price, it is probably the cheapest knife that can be waved open without modification. Also, the zytel would probably better for SD because it is not as slick as the titanium one. The steel of the zytel is fine for what it should be used for. I only wished it had a slightly slimmer profile.

The laws here are primitive concerning knives, when the murder rate in boston alone in '05 was at a ten year high, and gun violence was the talk of the news for the entire year.

I love my CS Ti-Lite in anodised blue. On looks alone, it's my favourite of all my knives, and the lock is rock-solid if a little stiff.

That said, I wouldn't take it out to pick my teeth with in a restaurant.

I agree with the slimmer profile part. The liners are pretty thin so there is potential for putting slimmer scales on it, but I wish I had the means to do so like some skilled people around here can. I saw a pic on this site where someone had their Ti-Lite rehandles in green micarta I think but it looked just as rounded as the original scales.

According to the SpecPro website, the Zytel Ti-Lite uses 440A, not 420. The titanium version still uses AUS-8A.

(The Triple Action folders use AUS-10A.)

The 4" and 6" Zytel Ti-lites are now being made with Aus-8a steel. They are not being made in Japan like all of the other knives CS has in Aus-8a steel. They are being made in Taiwan with Aus-8a. I have the 6" Ti-lite that is marked "Aus-8a Taiwan" on the blade. The 4" model is only marked "Taiwan" like before. The website has not been updated. I spoke to Miguel, the Customer Service manager and he verified the information.

That is mine! Done for me by Chase Axinn (http://www.chaxknives.com) at a high quality and reasonable cost. It is about 25% slimmer than the original. And about 400% better looking IMO. Picture for you:

Note the lack of thumbstud. I simply use the top horn as a thumb opening device if I am not in a hurry.

Yeah thats the one-looks great. Good to know that he can make them slimmer and still keep somewhat of a rounded handle. Hard to see from the side view. No open holes equals no dirt/dust buildup in the handles like mine does. I might have to check out Chaxknives.com. Thanks for the info!
