CS Voyager 4" tanto.....Great knife.

I have 4" voyager and X2 voyager, I like both so much!!
5" voyager are on my wish list...
"El Tigre"

My large voyager with the plain tanto blade just arrived, and that edge is a nice piece of work. It fits in my hand nicely when opened, and is plenty big--I don't know how some of you guys carry the 6" X2 around. Jeez.

Its not so hard when you are 6'9"

one night, after a lot of alcohol, i decide to try and open a bottle of bourbon with a fully serrated clip point one of these , the knife slipped off the rubber and into my knuckle. being drunk, i looked at the wound and could see fatty tissue sticking out. after the ED trip i threw it in the bin.
Well, you were right to do that. Once bitten by a knife, you can never trust it not to do it again, especially when you're drunk. I have several Voyagers and I like them a lot. They're very reliable, they cut well and they're tough. The 5-inch plain edge is my personal favorite.

I owned a Vaquero Hombre for a time and it was a superb design for cutting. The steel wasn't the best and I battled to open it with one hand but I think it is a pretty good deal for what you pay.

The El Hombre was a bear to open. I got one last year and it still hasn't loosened up. It also has a serrated blade, which makes it a determined cutter, but I've gotten to where I don't use serrated blades as often as I thought I would.

The 6-inch Vaquero is a good knife, though it's not one I'd like to have fall out of my pocket at a wedding. Still, in a pinch, it makes a good case to evil doers for taking their evil doing elsewhere. It also does well in the yard, trimming small branches and doing other odd jobs.

CS makes many good knives, but I'd pass on that twenty dollar job.

Nice to catchup on a Voyager discussion. I am planning on adding the Voyager2XL to my CS collection...I already have the Vaquero Grande and have been punishing it happily for the last 7 years or so, however I am anticipating a more symetrical and controlable cut line with the Plain edge 2XL. Hope I'm right!

The X2 is a wonderful carry blade for the right long pocket of Carhartts. Looks like a smaller knife till you whip it out, and they do snap out one handed very nicely.

I picked up a X Large Voyager yesterday, clip point, fully serrated(it won't
be a utility knife). This is a very nice friend to have with you. It is the
largest knife I can carry here in Texas(5.5 in. limit). I will get another
in plain edge....

....'cause everything's bigger in Texas :D.

Us Texans are the only people who can go to Australia and say, "That's not a knife, This is a knife!!!"

The Voyager is the knife I always come back to, and that includes the Vaquero, which is just another Voyager configuration. Both it and the XXC/S are not difficult to carry. If you carry your wallet in your right back pants pocket, you'll find that the XXC/S should fit quite well into the other pocket.

I'm not at all enamored with the Rajah. After all, who needs steel inserts? A full grown gorilla couldn't snap a Zytel knife in two, nor can they be seriously hurt by falling out of a motorcycle going 50 mph. Also, the Vaquero's serrated blade configuration makes cuts much more damaging than the Rajah's plain edge.

Most people who get in trouble have at least some advance warning, and the Voyager is a great knife to have for EDC as well as for defense. I normally keep a cone diamond sharpener on me, so I need never fear having a dull blade. The AUS8S/VG-1 blades used by Cold Steel are good working knife steels. I've even found the 440A knives to be better than I initially thought they were going to be based on the reviews here. Anyway, CS is one of the most maligned knife companies out there and yet they have some of the largest, strongest knives available, and they keep improving the locks.

Any company that can give users knives they really can't get anywhere else is worth having around, and CS certainly falls into that category. Having said that, their knives are getting a bit pricey, but I'd rather they go with price increases that crappy quality steel like some other knife companies.
