Finally got the patination where I wanted it on those langets.
Back in July, I tried using a mix of H202, salt, and vinegar to achieve a patina on 'em but it never got quite right. So I took an extra set of langets I had and stripped the paint of them with a vibrating palm sander and left them on the back porch until yesterday. I removed the rust using a wire brush attachment on my dremel. What was beneath was a nice textured charcoal grey surface. Exactly the look I wanted.
