Csar-t

Am I the only one that notices how off center the blade is when closed? This is the problem that kept me from buying the advantage pro. The blade rubs the liner. Now this one too!!! What is Buck's problem??

Mine looks just like the one in Flats picture, and no, the blade doesn't contact the liner. It opens and closes smooth as butter. IMO, the blade being off center a little when closed is more an esthetic issue than an functional issue.

Post 17 in this thread mentions it.

It's still a folder... even if the blade is a quarter inch thick the lock system is still the weak point on hard use folders... I was all excited for this to be a fixed blade knife...

Thanks for the pics!
Looks huge. Need to fondle (I mean closely inspect) one when I can.
Did it come in a Buck or TOPS box? Curious how it's being marketed.

i fondled- no handled one back in april that CJ had wiped out to show some one
they FEEL in great in th hand i tell you!! (better then the alpha)
this is what i would want to edc if i was still active duty!!!
humm correction
i would like to EDC one any way!!
price is less then what i recall CJ thought though they might rsvp for

With this brute, it's "weakest" point has got to be stronger than the "strongest" point on any other folder I've ever had my hands on including the Strider I have.

I'm not sure what it would take to make this thing fail, but I'm betting most of us aren't man enough to do it.

I'll repeat what I said already about the blade being off center...mine does not hit anything and operation is very smooth and unhindered. Yes I would like to see the blade centered when closed but it is what it is.

I really like the knife.

I got mine from Knifecenter as well. It feels great. I'm not a Buck fan but I think this one is worth the price tag. The blade edge was not as sharp as I would like but after very minimal leather stropping it is very sharp!

That is a walloping big knife. Looks like a nice replacement for the Strider/Buck collaboration. Thanks for posting the pics.

Got one on the way-it's still in a pre-buy condition at knifecenter so who knows how long before I get to fondle:grumpy:. Cant Wait!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

Congrat Fritz!! You'll like this knife!!
Start saving for a Rosey Kalinga now. :D

You're right on both accounts Flat. That Csar just looks too bleeding big and burly not to have. 'sides its a cooberation with tops and maybe things will go sour and they become hard to get also-who knows?- I just knew as soon as you posted those pics, it must be mine:thumbup:

Plus I can club my wife over the head with it and giver m-neezha so she forgets how much I spent:p

Just one minor-league question:

Why ATS-34 and not S30V?

I'll probably pick one up eventually just to have in collection. If it came out in S30V, I'd keep only the 1st, 3d, 4th and 5th words of the previous sentence and maybe add the word "now" at the end. :D

Why ATS-34 and not S30V?

Now that is a legit question wolfdog. I had heard that Buck only had a very small stock of ATS-34 in inventory and were looking to use it up. But one would think that by "using it up" it would be a short run of 110 blades for the Custom shop and not a new production knife.

My guess is that was the steel Tops wanted for the blade.

I personally like ATS-34 and don't mind having it as a blade steel on anyone of my knives.

I'm happy about it-I have a few s30v blades but no ATS-34's and have wanted to check em out.
