CTS-XHP Paramilitary 2

The Paramilitary 2 has a longer blade

Have any dimensions of the knife been posted? All I have seen are the pictures and I don't remember seeing dimensions given? Have a link?

Edit: Here is the link to where the paramilitary 2 pictures are shown. I see nothing in the text about an increase in blade length. It says the handle is a little longer but nothing of the blade. Just wondering where the longer blade is discussed.

I thought RWL-34 was the Scandinavian version of ATS-34 which is the Japanese version of CM-154 which is an American (Crucible) high purity 15% Cr and 4% Mo high Carbon stainless steel developed for jet and rocket engine rotors to have good strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. Maybe I was dreaming again.

If Sal is reading, I agree! Actually, I agree with both thoughts... :(

Well I disagree...

Since it's a ParaMilitary 2, it means it's the second version or the so called "upgrade." many aspects of the ParaMilitary is carried on the 2, and Eric and Sal is going to improve what they see as minor problems:thumbup:

I'll be the first to say that the Para1 will still be available for sometime even after it's discontinued, because most buyers will buy the improved version and leave the "outdated" in stock

well they offered the centofante 3 and 4 concurrently so i hope they keep the standard para in the line up!

I hope they contnue to offer the para 1 despite the release of the para 2. Probly not though

The original para will probably be around (new old stock), as far as future production goes I think it will stop once the para 2 starts flying off the shelves. My only gripe with the original para is being fixed in the 2nd version (the square steel corner of the tang that sticks out when the blade is closed). I've slammed my pinky into it a few times breaking skin and everything:mad:

The Centofante 3 and 4 are the exact same knife, only the blade style is different. I believe they were made to run concurrently,
the 4 was not intended to be a replacement of the 3, just to compliment it. The Para 2 is a completely new blade IMO.

That is what my thoughts were. This is just opinion on my end, but I think the Para 2 is going to be such a hit, very few people will be looking back.

I would love to get my hands on the Para2. IMO all the drawbacks which exist in the regular Para were fixed; the Para-2 should be a winner. With it's longer blade, even more ergonomic handle and robust design, the Para 2 sounds like a promising hit.
As to its steel, I really don't care too much. Whatever Sal is going to choose, is going to be fine with me. Though I must say that the new CTS-XHP steel is indeed impressive stuff.

I've never owned a Para but this evolutionary design looks good to me. I want one! If it has an exotic steel that would probably add to the appeal for me.

I would love to see several Para 2s released with different G-10s and an RIL/Compression version with S90V, M4, CTS-204P & CTS-XHP!

How about black g-10/RIL Compression with a DLC M4 blade? Orange g-10 with S90V and Blue g-10 with a carpenter steel?

Thanks for the clarification. ;) I'm sure Eric and Sal consider the P2 an improved model - otherwise they wouldn't introduce it. As a buyer and user, though, I don't have to agree, and in this case I don't think I'm going to.

As mentioned in my post and the one I quoted, I'm also sure that the P1 will be - probably already is - history. There will be inventory around for a while, maybe a long while, but no new variations, no new sprints.

I think I've said it before, but I'll say it again. :p
Of all my knives, which is many, the Para is simply my favorite

Quite possibly when I get a chance to handle a P2, I'll fall in love. Till then, I'm holding onto the P1. It's a great, truly great, design. And I'm a fossil. :D

And I'm a fossil. :D

ha ha than makes two of us

For all the excitement and (possibly) hype about the Paramilitary, I honestly can't wait for the Paramilitary 2 to come out. I won't buy the 1, but since the 2 has holes drilled for left-handed carry, I think I can deal with the right-handed compression lock.

Left handed g10 / titanium RIL Paramilitary 2 with a CTS-XHP blade? My dream knife.
