CTS-XHP vs M390 which is better?

if the M390 is 0.0009% more wear resistant, but the XHP is 0.00004% tougher, does it really matter?


i personally am very impressed with M390 since i have more experience with it. i was really impressed with the military and mule that i have. i also was impressed with how sharp the Manix 2 with XHP got, but never really got to put it through the paces.

It's on the BBS website. As far as others go, dealer/distributor exclusives can be re-ordered by the original dealer/distributor, and some have been in the past (Moonglow Manix2). Spyderco does not do this with sprints, however. I haven't heard anything about any of the other exclusives being re-ordered, but it certainly could happen.
 
Do you guys know that Carpenters 204P is the same as m390&20cv, carpenter also produces PS with smaller grain sizes. I'm not sure how it stacks up, as it hasn't been used much yet.

Yes most of us know that already. :)

It's really the same as 20CV since Carpenter made 20CV for them.

M390 is 3rd Generation.
 
Honestly, this is just speaking from LIMITED expirience...but I find that I can get a much toothier edge on my CTS-XHP (both the hinderer and 2 VECP's) vs M390 (gayle bradley, bm 755, bm 710). Maybe its just me, but thats what I find. So I guess it depends on your application..but I second that the m390's edge lasts longer IMO.

It's all those Chromium Carbides in XHP. :)
