Cuban Madness!

My 2011 Tidioute Stockman/Bumble Bee scales just came today... the scales look just as good in person.

I absolutely love this knife. It is the best production folder I've ever personally handled. The tension is just right.

The only "issue", which I already have heard several folks mention, is that it needed a good flushing with oil upon arrival to remove the last remnants of grit from the joints, after that it is silky smooth.

I'll edit in some pictures as soon as I get done playing with it. :D

More knives on the way. Will post when they get here.

I received my first of this pattern yesterday after thinking I'd pass on it. I am very glad to have gone for it! It bridges the gap between the Stockman, which I love, and the Toenail, which is my favorite.

I would LOVE to see this pattern with a swedged, long-pull main spear but this will do just fine. If only for the comfortable heft and the sheepsfoot blade (my preferred blade to use at work), this knife would be worth it. Add the ebony and I'm feeling like I "need" another... :o

Thanks for all the pics, gents. You really sold me on this one and I'm happy you did. :D:thumbup:

This fell out of the mailbox today -- My newest GEC Northfield Cuban Cigar Stockman with Dark Green Bone scales.

The green in this knife is so dark it appears to be black in the majority of the scales. I like it. Maybe enough to get another.

Right now I'm debating between one of those, and the ebony version.

I came within a hairs width of cashing in my reservation today for the very hard to get Geniune stag cuban stockman that was just released, but I had to pass it on to whoever was in line after me. The scales just weren't uniform enough from one side to the other, for me to be happy with.

Here is a Tidioute Big Jack with blades closed in Burnt Grizzly Cut Bone. Profile should be the same.

I like the Cuban pattern. My most recent GEC was just this week; a 2008 Moose in Red Hangman Bone.

joe-bob, post pics if you can, I've been thinking about a red hangman bone punch jack. How's it look in person?

Love these slanted lined and pinched bolsters.:D

Sorry, no pics yet, but it looks nice. It's not nearly as dark as Blood Red jigged bone, and it has a very small jigging pattern-like a herringbone style to look like rope texture.

I've carried for a couple times my 53 furtaker trapper in the last couple days, i'm really starting to get crazy about the pattern
carries well, cuts crazy, not heavy but feels like a real knife

the 53# is growing on me, really fast!

I didn't like them at first, but they are definitely growing on me.

I'm also eyeballing the furmaker... the two blades it carries are perfect for most any job. I'm going to have a hard time buying one instead of a stockman though... that extra blade is just too tempting.

Here are a couple more new pics, one a new 2011 ebony stockman, the other an older brimstone bone moose from 2008.
