Does anyone have experience of the Camillus CUDA Close Quarters Battle fixed blade? The low key guard looks a little worrying to me. I'm very interested in it and would love to hear what a user has to say.

Don't worry about the guard, it's just right for use if you know how to handle it. I love its "black canvas Micarta" handle, kinda like snake skin material, very cool.

I would love to hear more about this knife. I handled once, one word, "solid". One piece ATS34, the handle is very comfortable, also most importantly very balanced. Do they make a smaller version? It would be perfect for daily carry. Too bad they dont make a black Ti coated version, only beadblast i think. Does anyone have more info on this knife?

oh.. can the knife be carry in horizontal position? Also is the big version too big for daily carry? It's only $10 in price difference than the Jr., dont know which one to get.

Any more takers?

Also interested in sharpening as I've had problems sharpening ATS-34 before.

SharpEdge,
Yes you can set up the TEK-LOK for horizontal carry of the sheath. My personal favorite method of carry for the CQB1 is appendix draw IWB using either the supplied IWB loop, or the the supplied 'para-cord' used as a static cord or 'rip cord'. THis allows me to carry the full sized CQB1 concealed with ease on a daily basis.

We do not offer the CQB with a coated blade, because the full tang construction. If you coated the blade[and tang of course], when you 'blended' the scales to match the tang with a smooth, hand fitted juncture, you would destroy the coating in places. In short, it would look terrible. THe finish we use, CUDA Slik-Matte, is not just a bead blast finish. We high impact, vibratory tumble the whole knife first,...then we lightly ceramic bead blast over the stonewash. This gives the scales thier unique feel, and gives the ATS-34 a silky smooth 'french grey' uniform finish. The surface of the steel is smoothly 'peened', not roughly broken-up, like regular beead blast. This finish retards surface corrosion, instead of inviting it.

Hope this helps,....lemme know if you need any more info.!

Actually, the ATS-34 blades I've had trouble sharpening were Gerber crApplegate Combat/Covert folders.
