Dexter and Will the overall open length of the Mad Max 5.5 is 11 1/2"

FrankB the thickness of the handle is 1/2"

The handle material is 6AL4V Titanium. Easy enough to drill and tap with sharp tools. I would strongly suggest a guide for the tap and not do it by hand.
 
You can get the deep carry clip from KnifeKits.com. As far as aligning the clip for tip up carry, I usually just center the clip around the lanyard hole. The holes for the deep carry clip match the holes from the standard clip. Darrel's site might have some pictures with a Maxx set up for tip up carry.
