I just recieved a cuda maxx dagger from 1sks, problems with the lock, it goes all the way over when it is opened, also with the blade open if you look down the handle the blade is slopping down(edge). Should I try 1sks on monday, or call camillus direct to resolve these problems. Note I have a bowie and it is perfect.

It looks like several of the MAXX daggers must have had the locks cut wrong as this is the third or so post I've seen. On the one I had the lock bar came over and covered the blade tang completely, but did not come close to touching the other handle slab. I would try calling Spark at 1SKS on Monday. I'm sure you will get satisfaction! Btw, my bowie has the lock coming over to cover about 25% of the blade tang which isn't a whole lot but the lock is secure on it, very secure!

I got my Maxx bowie about two weeks ago. A local shop had one on sale for $119. The bowie was a demo, but alignment and lock were perfect (Sharpmaker restored the shaving edge). When I saw the new spearpoint at 1sks, I ordered it immediately. It had the same problems you describe: Blade centerline angling downward from handle centerline. I called both 1sks and Camillus, who both promised to rectify the problem. I ended up sending it to Camillus. I have no reason to doubt 1sks, but it's a manufacturing fault--1sks shouldn't need to deal with it. I sent a complete (illustrated) description of the problem. Let us all know your path to solution, and how it resolves.

I sent my maxx in to camillus 2 weeeks ago. Was sent next day express mail insured. The factory cannot find it. Just wondering if this is par for the course, since when I called they said to insure it 2 or 3 times on the phone?

I did the same. Followed up with eMail to customer service and have heard nothing. If this is their idea of customer service, this will be the last knife I buy from Camillus.

There IS NO Cuda Maxx Spearpoint. Darrel Ralph makes a custom spearpoint Madd Maxx, but the new Cuda Maxx is the stiletto blade. Too bad, because the spearpoint is a useful design while the stiletto is more of a fantasy piece. Additionally, there's more grinding and work in the stiletto, which makes it more expensive.

I sent in an EDC over two weeks ago and have not heard a thing. Rather disconcerting. I didn't insure it because the US mail has never let me down by losing something. It didn't occur to me the insurance might be to protect from loss by the people I'm shipping to.

Called the post office they have a signature of recipient on 1-22-03.
Called Camillus they said they have not got around to opening all the knife returns they have received in the last few weeks. They will get around to my knife in a week or so. Great warranty service??????
I'll let you know if and when I get my Cuda Maxx back.

Keep after them. I sent a second eMail, and that seemed to work. I received a reply yesterday saying a
new knife would be sent today (we shall see). I'm thinking they had more returns than QA'ed
replacement pieces. I'll post when I get the new one.

I have a bowie maxx - when sent it back for warranty - they couldn't find it, and did not recognize the name of the individual that signed for it. I called again (my dime, not theirs), and they finally found it. No dates on when it might be ready.

I called again after 5 weeks - and yes they had it, but could not tell me when I might get it back.

They suggested calling them again if I was in hurry.

Yikes - maybe they had a lot more problems than they anticipated.

Called Windy at the 800 #. Was told knife should ship on the10th or 11th and I sdhould have it by Friday. Well no knife yet called again was told nothing shipped, and the person I needed to speak to is off today and Monday. Maybe one of these days I'll have a working cuda maxx.

I finally get some money. $165 is ALOT to me for a knife. My Maxxx 5.5 stiletto should be hear tomorrow or Tuesday. Are you guys saying I will likely need to send it in and wait another month or more to get one that is actually made right? Are all the stilletos bad? I am getting a little worried.....

Mine arrived without any problems. Beautiful fit and finish to go with another outstanding design. And the lock is near perfect, covering around 75% of the blade tang.

You know...I found the little knife from Camillus interesting and almost was thinking of ordering the one with the stalitto blade ...But seeing the issues with customer service, posibally lost knives, such a high defect rate, are they ISO compliant? Who if anyone does the quality check? They should have their eyes checkes for allowing such a high defective rate. The company's attitude does not set well with me either. I have placed them on my "S" list. Thanks for the information guys. Hope you get your knives back and in working order.

Okay! I am no longer freaked out. My Maxx stiletto just arrived. Great. Blade is centered. No blade paly. Lock up is anot 3/4 on a good snap, yet it unlocks with firm thumb pressure. I am 100% pleased.

sar8675309,
You may want to give them a chance. This is just a temporary thing. You don't want to miss out on this MONSTER. Cammillus is really a fine company. One of the best.

Received my cuda maxx back today after 1 month, guess what its going back. The grip is two colors one side is gray one is blue( yes I tried cleaning it, windex made the blue bluer and the gray grayer) Also the blade is not not coming all the way open before it locks, this is hard to describe but if you look down the knife it looks like the blade is about 2 degs, short of being open all the way. If someone want to buy a cuda maxx I suggest to wait awhile till they get it together at Camillus.
