The Cult of the Peanut is growing it's ranks from people outside the USA, and it can be tough getting such a great little tool, outside the USA. I have a yeller delrin CV Case peanut that I'd like to give away to a Traditional member outside the USA. I will take care of shipping, you might not get it fast, and I can't guarantee that you will, but maybe the inner workings of the Cult will make sure it makes it's way to you.

I've been thinking that many of us in America can drive to the hardware store, sporting goods store etc, or just order online, and receive a peanut. I've seen the extreme lengths that some have to go to. Truth be told I also want to spread the good word of the Peanut. You guys have the Opinel, the Douk Douk, the SAK! Maybe we can get some Case knives into your hands.

All I ask is that you are someone that wants to try the peanut out, if you don't like it, pass it on to a Bladeforums member outside the USA that otherwise would have a hard time getting one. This will last until August 3rd. I am going on vacation Sunday, and won't be back until August 1st, so I wanted to give this a couple days.

All I want to see from you are some beautiful vistas of your homeland, with any traditional knife in the picture. Mountains, beaches, oceans, lakes, your street at home. Local flavor, jawdropping scenery. I want to see your best. Your knife can be a folder, fixed blade, SAK what have you. Doesn't have to be native to your country either. Puukkos in New Zealand? No worries there. Opinels in Brazil? Cool. Please remember the rules for the Traditional section.

One entry per person, random number generator will choose the winner.

I'm a massive Case fan, and it is true that outside of the sates, which I am very much so, they are hard to come by.

Not an entry as as I type this I have my yeller Delrin CV 'nut in my watch pocket. Thanks for your generosity and for supporting us foreigners!

Hi silenthunterstudios, like my Aussie cousin above i also have "The Captain" in my peanut pocket. Case Knives are available here in the UK but at a price , for instance a yeller cv peanut will cost the equivalent of around $59 .
Also not an entry, but a superb gesture on your part.

Regards OMR.

There's really only one thing to say.
Cheers and I'm in.:)

that's two things isn't it?
three really when i say thanks for the generous gesture.
The topic came up just this arvo when I was scanning my emails for the much desired case black cherry bone russlock. So many dealers are reluctant to ship OS-understandable. but I (me) have never had a problem.
Can't afford it anyway because of the BF 2015 but ya get that. Strike while the iron's hot.
I also noticed this morning at the local hockshop -its full of really cheap quality knives -everything from bear grylls through to buck bowies- The clientele of this place (near where I work) are like extras from Breaking Bad.
But at the hardware complex yer lucky if you can find someone who'd know how to change a light bulb. Go figure.

Awesome idea for a giveaway! Good for you STS!

Not an entry as I'm not eligible.... and I have a couple of nuts I love.

Well, I have almost a Peanut, but I´d like to join this one :)

Here is a pic of my neighbourhood in the early spring... bavarian hillside :D

Not an entry either as was recently gifted these two beauties by our own Will Power. The delrin handled pen went to my father on his 70th birthday and the peanut, of course, stays with me. But it's a good thing you do in offering such a fine example of American cutlery to us, largely deprived, outsiders. And if all you require in return for this kind gesture is a peek of our own humble utensils in their native environments, then so be it. Here's my trusty SAK Farmer in the bluebell woods of Southern England earlier this summer. Best wishes to you STS.

Hello!

I am in.

I am very inspired to discover a Peanut CV as EDC by jacknife and other cultisits.

Thank you for the chance! You are absolutely right it is not so easy to get classical american knives in Europe. I have many SAK's, Opinels, Meractor's, Douk-Douk knives, Puuko's, Boeker classic knives etc. We have some local cutlery makers too. And I am very interested in discovering american cutlery traditions.

Long-long time ago I have read about Tom Sawyer and his Barlow knife. I was very interested which knife was it. I am a member of several local russian language knife forums. But I couldn't locate any information about Barlow there. I knew nothing about american patterns and thought Barlow was cutlery producer from Sheffield. So this was my way to BladeForums and Traditional subforum.

I would like to introduce my country. I am from Belarus. This is the country in Eastern Europe surrounded by Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine (in clockwise direction). Our country is beautiful and our nature is rich. We have big forests, vast plains, affluent rivers. And our swamps are called The Lungs of Europe.

I live in the center of country in the capital city Minsk. Yesterday I visited my granny who lives in the very south of the country. On my way I've made some photos.

Below you can see our typical landscape - plains and forest.

Here is Iput' river. This river is partitioned by cascade of damps. This damps gives power to the one of the biggest paper factories in Eastern Europe.

Sure I had a classic companion in my voyage - Mr. Alox Bantam.

Please come and visit our country, you are welcome!

Great stuff Dan, you are a fantastic Ambassador for the Peanut! :) You've been very kind to me in the past, so I'll stand aside for this one please. Very generous of you my friend

Good luck aspiring Cult members! ;)

Jack

Thank you! Hope I will be able to find my photoarchive from my fishing journeys this weekend and post some more.
That would be interesting Zharik. Best of luck with the GAW, those little peanuts really are beautifully produced little knives.

I've found some beautifull photos.

River Neman - great place for fishing and water voyages. Maybe the most beatiful place I ever been to.

Nice gesture Dan.
However I have my yellow cv Peanut in my pocket as we speak.
Paid about 48 euros all in a few years back, but that's the disavantage of living in Europe when it comes to American traditional knives.
But heck, we can go into any outdoor shop and buy an Opinel for cheap ;)

Took an evening ride on the motorcycle up a mountain road and thought it would be the best time to ge a photo of my hometown with a little traditional knife content.

Knife is a GEC 72 Cody Jack in Amber Bone. KLR 650 from the Yukon Territory!
Thanks for the chance! I would love a try at a peanut. No local dealers here for me to coon finger one. Good luck everyone!

Thank you!
My fishing places on this river are close to Naliboki - very big forest in the center of our country. It is realy big and dense. During the WWII there were thousands of people from partizan troops hiding. History of one of this troops you could see in the "Defiance" film, Daniel Craig starring.

Nice giveaway.

Hopefully a lucky member from "foreignparts" has a great little knife to drop in their pocket too!
