Anyone ever buy from Cumberland Knives???
I have seen the best prices on Emerson CQC7s here and at Botach but I have read nothing but bad about Botach...your thoughts from anyone buying from these sources especially Cumberland?
CQC7A spearpoint in Black-Ti partial serated blade for a decent price but I can't seem to get the search function to work and I have seen many against over at another forum.
Thanks,

Mefiez you of Cumberland they withdrew twice the amount of an order to me and I did not receive anything

John is nothing but a scam artist, he ripped me and a buddy off on some Leupold scopes he had up for aution. He never had any scopes in the first place. The Cookeville police know him all too well and are working a case against him now. I also saw 14 current complaints with the Better Business Bureau against him and his so called company. Run away, far away, don't ever send John any money unless you are just donating him some for his legal fund.

We should make sure to distinguish this company from Cumberland Knifeworks, which is Bill Horn's outfit, and is renowned for great products, great prices, and great service.

I usually try to stay out of these discussions about people and their reputations........HOWEVER, on this one , I must chime in.

As the owner / operator of Cumberland Knife Works, this year I have rec'd 6 calls asking me " where is my order " ?? These requests are for items I do not sell and the caller has mistaken us for Cumberland Knives.

Short history : John and Sonia Hopson first went by the name of Knife Country, later Cumberland Knives, still a little later( early 2005 ) he " lifted" the name Cripple Creek Knives, then Cookeville Knives, and now possibly back to Cumberland Knives. WHEW !!! What a history.

When the name Cripple Creek was stolen and used from Bob Cargill , owner of the trademarked name " Cripple Creek" , I called Bob and made him aware of the theft. Bob squashed the illegal usage immediately.

I have posted a dis-claimer on my website in an effort to show no association with John hopson... on Latest News at my homepage to view this.

Just this evening , I rec'd another call " where is my Boker ?? " I was able to help this man who had paid $$ to Hopson and no knife rec'd.

Yes, the local police know him well as do the Tennessee Secretary of State's Anti-Fraud investigators. How does he continue to operate ???...who knows !!

I have been asked many times..." do they take orders and then attempt to purchase the items from a supplier?? " It seems they stock nothing.

On-line retailing is very new and there is no excuse for people to get hurt in knife transactions. Do people not understand that in this age of high speed computers , you cannot act this way and go undetected ??

Well that depends on which cumberland you are talking about?

Bill at cumberland knife works, is a great guy, "one of the good ole boys", very nice, honest, helpful christian man. I really enjoy doing business with him. He picks out knives like he would want them!

The other one? I have never dealt with them, but heard some "not so good things", but I have no personal experience there, so I can't honestly say.

lo.l...just saw you Bill!!! ...wow am I slow! :D

The Lord bless you my friend!!!

Bill, I completely agree with you!

Well said Bill, I'm suprised that John Hopson hasn't tried to legally change his name to "Bill Horn" by now.

Now that would not be right.

Neither is deliberately naming your rip-off company with similiar names of legit business', but that's never stopped him. :D

For the record this is one area where Bladeforums saved me trouble a few years ago, I was all set to order and thought I was making my first order from Bill Horn, after he was recommended to me by someone, and at the last second did a search here and found I was about to place an order with the wrong company.
