Curious about my initial forced patina effort..

even a BAD cellphne pix might tell a thousand stories; Here is one of a new Condor Mini-Bushlore..using heated apple cider vinegar to force patina..and had this one hot spot;

overall pleased but was wondering about this spot that didn't take - especially due to the pattern..knife was clean[Acetone], dry and solution liberally applied..could be operator error but want to blame a difference in the steel..just because.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Clean with alcohol even after the acetone. Acetone leaves a residue that may have caused that spot.

daisy cutter, thanks, will do.

Should have mentioned that the bright spot appeared on the blade before I got started. I initially thought it might have been some sort of rust preventative Condor applied in manufacturing but disregarded with all the washing, cleaning, oiling and the Acetone bath. May try to scuff it with wet-dry sandpaper.
